Battle grounds are not GMs

Bungie, wth is wrong with you, Battlegrounds are not strikes and shouldn't be considered for GMs. Then to have the audacity to make Psi ops: Moon a GM. I wonder which will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

  • Having beaten the grandmaster twice already (once without dying), I do agree that battlegrounds are not strikes and should be eradicated from the strike playlist all together. There are few battlegrounds that aren't so terrible. However, for the most part I tend to avoid going through a battleground when it comes up in the playlist. The way a bunch of these activities are designed is not only less fun but also are not designed with the same parameters as strikes. Still though, the moon version that's available this week as the grandmaster is one of the more tolerable of the bunch. I can think of far worse battlegrounds to take on as a grandmaster.

    • Correction: Seasonal areas aren’t GMs. Where’s Sundial then? Oh I can’t wait till they make menagerie a GM. And make it randomized each time so no one can prepare. Perrrrrfect 👌🏼 😂

      • Much like everything else with this game, it's just cheap, lazy dog sh*t meant to pad-out playtime instead of giving anything worthwhile or meaningful to encourage players to play. What's that? You spent forty minutes of your life trying to finish this lazily rehashed content we decided to throw into the strike/nightfall loop only to get nothing worth a f*ck by the end of it? And that forty minutes was just the successful run and we're not including all the other wasted time? Whether they're strikes, any of the normal nightfalls or GMs, Battlegrounds were never made to be strikes. And Bungie wonders why people cheese EVERYTHING at every opportunity without a single f*ck given. This company is trash and I hope Marathon is a total failure. With how many people they've burned on this game, I'd imagine it will be.

      • I'm fine with them being strikes they're short and easy but the difficulty spike between a Nightfall and a Strike Battleground is insane

      • This is the most ridiculous GM I have ever done, and I’ve completely many. Converting the BGs are just lazy, and they don’t follow the typical linear approach as the other GMs.

      • Ok ran it again and its a trash can. Just a old map slapped a GM sticker on it. Its a super cheap move on bungies part. Garbage GM . Even when we clear it . One and done has no replay value especially since they only offer another rocket launcher that is always out of ammo.. Just not much to like about that battle ground map/GM yeah right .

        • You want to know the cherry on top? They made the Nightfall weapon of the week the Osprey. Which is the first time it's been obtainable after being Sunset. It's like Bungie knows all the ways they can infuriate the community as much as possible.

          • I think it’s a good addition. Diversity is good so they don’t have to use corrupted for a 4th season in a row. Sure, ideally they’d release a bunch of new strikes but battlegrounds are basically strikes. Go here, shoot the things, go here, shoot the things, deposit, go here, shoot the things, boss fight. Took my bud and i 2 tries and that was partially bc we went in blind not knowing where champs/enemies spawned and what not. The no mic lfg held his own. So like I was saying, I’m fine with them using assets they have to diversify the content.

          • There is NO difference between strikes and battlegrounds besides the name. They are now both Vanguard Ops. They are literally all the same now. All can and will be GMs.

              • I don't like it. It's not hard or anything, it's just that I hate all the seasonal content that they added to the vanguard playlist to begin with. Throw that boring crap in the vault.

              • Yes. Very challenging, but that's not my beef. We can get to boss room, but heavy mods (both) don't seem to be working. I end up in boss room with zero heavy --this is after 100 ads, 6 champs, witches, LB's...just ridiculous. Yes, there's a chest but you get 2! Heavy should be everywhere after doing mote room. lol, not using special mod and there's special everywhere.🙄 Yes, just as we get our supers and such when we prompt boss, we should get refill of ammo. Yes, huge difference b/c I can take down UNSTOP not problem. BG is a pain...and agreed ads should stop as normal GM.

                  If they had been called Strikes instead of Battlegrounds, no one would be complaining. They're similar in length to Strikes, have similar objectives - defend an area, use a relic to destroy something, dunk things - and the only thing that really separates them is the infinite enemy spawns during the boss. They're on the higher end of the difficulty scale, but that doesn't mean they're [i]too[/i] hard. Much of the difficulty comes from the fact they're new to this activity type, so people don't know when and where Champions and other threatening enemies spawn. There was a time when Glassway and Proving Grounds were the most-feared GMs, now they're regarded as easy and straightforward because they have been figured out - in last season's rotation, they were the easiest ones. I don't think any of them beat Lightblade for that title right now; I never did them, but I've heard that A Garden World was absurdly difficult way back in Season 11 and everyone knows about pre-nerf Corrupted.

                  I mean, it would be nice to have more than 1 new strike per dlc so I feel you there but I don’t mind it being a GM nightfall for something new in that pool. My particular issue with this GM in practice is it’s bugged and despawns the champion so you can’t get platinum\the adept weapon. Now that’s more the concern imo.
