Some improvements that need to be in the game.
Exotic focusing
Good idea, but the cipher isn’t necessary. Remove it, or reduce the requirements to complete the objective dramatically. Implement the same guaranteed stat spikes as what we have from the seasonal vendors. If we have a discipline focus on our ghost, then we want minimum 20 discipline and a healthy spike in one of the other stats.
Given the high cost, this isn’t an unreasonable ask.
Weapon crafting
Controversial, but I think all weapons should be craftable, WITHOUT enhanced perks. Remove them altogether. 90% of them offer minimal advantages.
This will cut down on player frustration with RNG when farming certain roles, and guarantee that eventually we will get the drops we want. Reward the player for their time investment.
Buffs/Nerfs
I get it. Every now and then a build comes to light that is way too powerful. Starfire was overly strong and needed a tweak. However, reducing regen from 25% to 2.5% is ridiculous. Revisit this nerf and treat it the same way as HOIL. HOIL got a fair nerf and is still a strong exotic in the right hands.
The recent buffs to older, underused exotics have largely fallen flat. Just give up the ghost. We as players know what we like to use. Also, how a rework to an exotic directly buffing Nova didn’t make the cut - I’ll never know.
Difficulty
I don’t mind the bump in difficulty, I actually prefer it. To compensate the above changes, make things harder. Allow our god roll weapons to shine. Allow our builds to shine.
These changes are obviously aimed at the end game PVE player. Bungie seems to think that the more they rely on RNG, whether it’s armor roles, weapon roles or whatever else, the more players will stay engaged with the game. The exact opposite is true. We want to be rewarded for the time we put in. We want to tackle the hardest content feeling powerful, proud of our builds and the synergy with our weapons. We don’t want to complete 9,000 strikes for an exotic cipher, only to be rewarded with a mid exotic role that adds nothing to our builds.
EDIT: People seem to be focusing on my difficulty points, which I expected as it’s a controversial take. But casuals and solo players are chiming in and as the title of my posts states you’re not who it’s aimed at. To clarify, I run a tight knit clan so for me, GMs and other difficult content feel easy with a solid team. I’m aware that’s not how 99% of the player base plays the game. In my opinion, you should. Find a good clan and make some friends. You’d be surprised how far a little communication, build crafting and team synergy gets you.

1 ReplyDefinitely not a "casual" but hard disagree on your difficulty take, builds mean nothing when enemies get more spongy and we keep getting nerfed, shoot HC just need a complete reverse on all the damage nerfs that happened and they will still need a buff at this point, difficulty shouldn't be measured by spongy enemies everywhere, or random crap one shots you, difficulty is execution of mechanics with precision in a timely manner.

We either farm to get rewarded, or farm to get disappointed and it would either be a weekly farm or a reward you got during your 3 full clears and can’t farm it anymore except for a specific thing *Looking at you, Raids*. We either farm long or farm short for the same result besides some exceptions

Common sense dropped here it is if your running as a team with good weapons of course the stuff will be easy u twit.

3 RepliesNot a single weapon should be craftable imho, it completely ruined the game for me personally. it takes all the grind out of the game and it makes the content said weapons come from pointless.. and enhanced perks should only be for the hardest content. Like I have pretty much every gun crafted and i dont touch most content or the game itself that much anymore because there is no point for me. All the weapons and armor i would get instantly turn to shards. I could'nt imagine having every single gun in the game crafted. There just wont be anything to chase. I do get that most ppl who dont play that much dont want to grind hours on end But you can't screw over the ppl who do either. I feel like the game is just missing the good old feeling of finding something nice like the godroll you were after or an exotic back in d1. And if all weapons were craftable There should just be more special endgame loot tbh like bungie only rolls out these seasonal content modes that you can run through without any thought But dont really add to the endgame. Maybe a solo dungeon weapon/armor piece or shader. Not just an emblem. Turn it into a thing with its own loot pool. Like one dungeon drops a helmet/hand cannon for example and another dungeon drops a scout/chest piece Giving more reason to do them besides the 1 time for the emblem. Also a solo flawless armor set just sounds cool. Maybe multiple tier based on amount of clears idk. Most things in the game you look at and say 'hey i have that too' like nothing feels special. Probably just a me issue Just my 2 cents tho

2 RepliesMost of this I'm pretty on board with. I'm on the fence about enhanced perks, because you have a very valid observation that I've noticed since it first released, but was met with pretty much nothing but pushback. Apparently it doesn't register that enhanced Dragonfly only gives, I believe 5 points to stability, that's it. That's what makes it enhanced. All that extra material cost for 5 points of stability? Really? Useless. They are largely useless save for a few like enhanced Target Lock, which is fantastic. Those few good perks put me more on the fence, but I also don't think I would be too broken about enhanced perks disappearing. I'm already incredibly picky about what enhanced I'll use because of how useless most are. One thing stood out though. The difficulty thing. I feel increasing difficulty further is a really bad idea. I'm not broken up about the last increase, but also not thrilled. If difficulty were increased further, weapon crafting would just feel pointless. Why would I put effort and grind into crafting if I just have another sub par weapon for way overpowered enemies? I craft because I can make a perfect weapon for me. It doesn't have to be smiting tier, just well functional across all difficulty scopes. If its not well functional, can clear faster and be more deadly, I'm just not interested in putting forth effort. Of course I don't speak for anyone but me, and how I feel the general reaction would be base wide, but its just a guess. Everybody has their personal details though. With even higher overall difficulty, I'd maybe even just quit altogether, not sure unless it happens, but if everything is just really hard, it takes away all of the enjoyment. I'm not looking for one hit kill Harpies and Goblins. Too many enemies are already ridiculously strong, like Wyverns for example. Threshers too; Cabal shield bash still sends us flying and kills most of the time. To add, things like shields; why even have shields if all enemies can just negate our shield by instantly killing us? It makes no sense as a feature of the game then, just wasted coding. The shield is a protective function for our survivability. Our protection perks and everything are already being pushed with that and, yes they can adjust, but I don't trust this company enough to change things like that with their track record, and since Marathon is so close. That's where all the money goes. They would most certainly mess it up, and wouldn't bother to fix it. An MMO style game like Destiny 2 also will not benefit from being beyond Dark Souls difficulty. Its a Massive Multiplayer Online, that means every aspect of it has to be created with the vast majority in mind. The harder the game becomes, the more players it loses, the more niche it becomes, and that is the last thing an already struggling game like this needs, and certainly the last thing any MMO needs. They require massive resources and playerbases just to survive and be functional, aside from all that Eververse/Dungeon Pass/Season Pass/Event Pass, all that money grabbing crap. I feel they would fall deeper into that trend, charging for more and more. The very real thing, is the less players an MMO has, the more has to be charged for, at higher prices to stay functional. We blast them for greed, but how do we know if its just that expensive to operate? We could be in the wrong here. Increased difficulty decreases sales as players drop, and fewer will be interested in coming into it, if they know you have to be a God, just for basic survival. Pushing farther into difficulty would probably be a death sentence for the game, as less incoming money, and more trying to make up, means issues will become much more prevalent over long terms, as they won't, or couldn't afford as much to combat it. Look at how bad it already is. Its really being pushed. Its honestly impressive it hasn't collapsed completely yet😂. It would at least have a profoundly negative impact. People are still upset with the last difficulty change. Sorry it was so long. I'm thorough. Thank you in advance if you read its entirety. That's respectable, as I know it can be overwhelming.

Just have to point out that as a casual PvE player the game does not need to be harder. It's cool to have something like neomuna and various difficulties and difficulty experiments, but at a certain point there are going to be a lot of people who feel like they don't have much to play. And looking at the game and seeing that there's a lot for some people to play is just going to compound some peoples' opinion that the game might not be for them. So then some of them might start down the road of frustrating themselves by trying to piece the game together at best and you know what at worst.

2 RepliesIt’s less the cipher for me more that 3 damn shards have to be used

I'm a casual (so I've been told, anyway), and I can get behind all of this, except MAYBE the 'enhanced perk' bit.

Make it harder ….yeah right ! The community are so splintered now . It’s mostly casuals now , after all the pandering to all the different groups Bungie screwed themselves .
