That’s what it looks like. Everyone who has any sort of expertise is working on Marathon. We had the most outrageous problems that should be the epitome of embarrassment for a multi-billion-dollar company. But there is a method to it. They just let people try themselves out on this game that they’ve basically given up on anyway.
I’d say stop investing, stop playing, stop giving feedback and for the love of whatever is holy to you: Do not buy Marathon! It is going to be the exact same thing.

Devs seem more worried about getting attention for their -blam!- orientation and inclusion for whatever diversity they think makes their lives more difficult in their 1st world country than doing good hard work on the game they got handed to simply keep together until it ends next year

Diversity hires.

1 ReplyPretty sure the janitor is running things

They put Destiny in a special room where a few people would try to work on it. It’s called the custodian closet. Most of the time, it’s in the recycling bin! 🤣 Absolutely nothing here but a shamble mess of shallowness!🤣

21 RepliesEdited by Hunter: 6/23/2023 7:07:52 PMFrom the job listings in their Careers page:
Studies show that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they believe they meet every single qualification. Bungie is focused on building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. If you're interested in this position but your past experience doesn't line up perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we want you to apply anyway.
Bungie doesn't hire based on skill or talent. They just want to tick boxes. I wonder how many young, talented developers are being denied work because they don't fit into a specific Bungie-approved group. The irony is mind boggling.

4 RepliesIt'a cool that you have an opinion, but nothing irks me more than other players telling me what to do or not to do

The truth is that anyone working on D2 is just keeping the cash cow on life support until they can get their other cash cow online. Once Marathon goes live and its seen to be a money maker, D2 will become abandon-ware.
-
my guess is: They will launch marathon and they think it will beat all the other games out there with the same consept. But before they do something like that, atleast try and get the pvp right in the game they earned alot of money from (destiny). They cant even ban cheaters in Destiny now and that says it all. So thats why i think marathon is gonna fail badly. Maybe this is why dmg and the others quit bungie, they realised ship is sinking and didnt wanna be a part of it. Imo we should stop give them attention on twitter, forums and so on THEY CLEARLY ignore us. Why waste energy on them at all? Game is broken beyond repair atm and they dont care, why all this silence from them? People might be wrong about it all BUT i doubt it. Time will show.

I’m with you. I will not buy Marathon because of how they have completely mishandled D2
-
The lack of transparency and updates from Bungie regarding the teams working on D2 ect is poor, recall in D1 there'd be regular interviews with leads and teams from each department. Unfortunately Bungie or at least the D2 has become a flag waving virtue signalling center piece. Staff being hired to show diversity over qualifications and experience. Hate to say it but the real Destiny killer has always been Bungie and Destiny itself, right now we're seeing a game that appears to be on life support.

18 RepliesNope. This what happens when you "cast" employees instead of hiring the MOST QUALIFIED people.
-
My take isn't so much that the talent has been moved to Marathon. It's that the talent isn't at Bungie any more full stop! Lazy dev. Greedy dev. Lieing dev. Disgusting dev.

8 RepliesGarentee marathon is going to be -blam!- too just because bungie dosnt give a -blam!-. People are being fooled if they think marathon will get anything they promised. They don't keep promises; plain and simple
-
2 RepliesAgreed on not buying the next game. However, you played an hour ago, after suggesting that people stop playing. General question: will you stop playing now that you have asked others to stop?

I'd say stop playing
Last Active, 2 hours ago. Lololol ok 🤡 maybe you should take you own advice. 😂

3 RepliesEdited by Nkarii: 6/24/2023 5:41:59 PMMaybe if they actually hired qualified people and not just because they're female or have dark skin Edit: or gay or trans Edit: or non binary or whatever the hell else there is nowadays

Blackburn killed the fun. That, coupled with the broken servers/service and the ever increasing monetisation means the game is now dead in the water. RIP Destiny 2.

6 RepliesNope ! Bungie are running bare minimum on destiny , doing enough just to get through , once final shape has dropped that’s it . Bungie are making huge profits from us with not a lot of effort ….season pass level ups with sliver alone makes them a huge profit because people just can’t wait ….Bungie know exactly what they are doing to maximise their profits in anyway they can …..they are a business after all . Marathon should be a solid game why wouldn’t it 🤷🏼♂️

7 RepliesI've been saying this for years. The Live Service concept needs to die as well

1 ReplyI do think they seem to be hiring based on some other parameters besides merit. Time we all WOKE up

10 RepliesEdited by Hamster (Adept): 6/23/2023 5:20:29 PMA few things I noticed & I agree with you. All the new hires, at least the ones who celebrated on twitter, where all very inexperienced or no experience & all had been hired for D2 & D2 seasons. The woman who led lightfall was only hired 6-7 months before it's release, I was shocked she was Lightfall lead. Not only that, her job title was D2 expansion lead, so she may be leading Final Shape too. It lines up that they said last week final shape production had just begun, same time of year as lightfall, final shape will absolutely follow the template of being 1 planet, 3 areas, a few exotic quests, some hidden bits etc & it's worrying that lightfalls awful mission design of tiny arenas with add spam & no cover, with platforms you can be knocked off, will happen again. Secondly, every dev moved onto marathon, you'll struggle to find any experienced one still working on D2, except joe Blackburn, & he left bungie for riot, hated it so came back & was put on D2 lead (he used to be raid lead). In my old workplace people got transfers to other parts of the country quite often & the ones who didn't like it & returned where only offered part time (they were full time) & lost their seniority so were put to the bottom of the list regarding choosing a daily round (mail delivery/postman). After seeing what happened with deej, DMG, & several others, id bet good money Joe being on D2 is punishment. Putting new staff on old projects for experience is normal, prioritising new things over old is fine too, as is experienced staff wanting to go to the new project, or being forced to work on new stuff is also normal. But the balance is way off & it's common knowledge, which it should never be. It's been a long time since bungie made something brand new, & it was good, refreshing, creative, & you can't count forsaken bcoz Activision made dreaming city & last wish. Marathon started on paper in 2015, building started in 2018, it's now 2023 & I expect release next autumn (Pete Parsons said all this), and the leaks say there's 3 maps. That's 9 years, to make & test 3 maps, I'm beginning to think they're actually not very good at their jobs

Yeah I don't like eating fish so I could advise no one buy fish anymore.
-
Most of them are working on the project after Marathon.

Ohhhhh there's not going to be any no buying marathon you will all buy marathon and relearn how to play pvp!
