I think Bungie is done with Destiny.
It seems like the devs are just going through the motions now. They're getting ready to run a Marathon. Destiny is just an afterthought and a cash gouge to fund Marathon. That wouldn't be so bad until you take into consideration that millions of players are paying to play Destiny and they deserve value for what they pay. At the moment, that return isn't adding up.

You can customize your ships an unlimited number of times. The weapons look really good. The only bad thing is that it is on Xbox. Oh well, I guess I need one.

2 RepliesJust because Bungie is going to support more than one game you think Destiny is dead?. Look... Bungie is a company that needs to make money. To have multiple titles active is common sense. They have multiple incomes and as a wise man once said "don't keep all your eggs in one basket" which Bungie has done for too long. Also no matter what no game franchise lasts forever and game studios need to move on to other projects... until someone in the distant future wants to reboot it (like Resident Evil and Dead Space). To say Bungie is releasing another game is not unexpected.

They 1,000,000% have been for a while now. It's on life support and oxygen because it's the cash-cow they have to keep income trickling in so they can siphon it to use for other projects. That's the ONLY reason it hasn't shut down.

3 RepliesSaying Scumgo is done with Drosstiny is absurd. Bumgo is an absurdly greedy and lazy company, and they have this great scam going... They pump out low quality, low effort, high priced, reskinned, recycled garbage...and loads of addicts, idiots and dress sim morons given them money for it on a regular basis (despite many of those same addicts, idiots and dress sim moron doing nothing other than complaining about the game). Bungo are far too greedy and lazy and manipulative and disgusting to give up that easy effortless cash.

I came in during season of the forsaken after years of Counter Strike, Call of Duty and Battlefield with some RPGs sprinkled in. I would like to think I'm the target player, mid skill but able to appreciate what Crucible and Gambit get right in PVP, I typically bought the yearly for myself and a few friends because it's not a burden to me. Nearly 2,000 hours in 4 years, almost every raid and dungeon complete. 3 Maxed out characters and about $400 in skins and ornaments. Since season of plunder when I got bored of the semantics that we weren't playing the same core games every week with almost no reward or incentive to get back in. The reason I dropped the game so fast after plunder was I saw the pitiful drip feed of new content and story being normalized. Season of the deep is 2 game types and a lot of recycled assets. We've seen Matchmaking can be operated to allow access to all content, they're just not inclined to until they can charge for it. We lost text chat almost a year ago when Bungie said they heard our feedback but change takes time (never to communicate intent, just to back pedal of course) and I'm laughing as I watch them reshape the question into how they can change game stats to "Fix" Destiny 2. The Tiger Engine is hard to work in! .... Well it wasn't a downside when they didn't have to pay for an engine. It's fine for development when it's a skin , emote, or something else you can buy. We've been fighting the same reskinned character models for nearly a decade and are told to say thank you. Ironically I only came back to see if Bungie and Desinty 2 because Activision has handled Modern Warfare 2 so badly I had rose tinted glasses on my experience last year in this game. An FPS MMO that doesn't have matchmaking, clan tools, CHAT or native tools to manage their poorly thought out game. DIM, Light.gg all have to be looking at Marathon and saying "fool me once, shame on me but this time you guys can eat it" 4 years no updates to Gambit or Crucible, Dungeons are now behind seasonal paywalls and with nobody excited to play this game where the Devs tell the player base endlessly why they're wrong about their experience...... I agree but I also don't think Marathon will do better. It seems forsaken was a fluke, should have known it when Bungie killed Cade to save a buck on voice acting. As an aside, the explanation of the creation of the witness was thrown into a weekly mission Bungie outsources. That's how much they care about this game, as in they clearly do not. Ironically I came back to Destiny 2 with those rose tinted glasses AND a penchant for Warzone DMZ. Thinking Marathon could easily capitalize on the tough times at Activision and breathe some new life into this game. Than I saw that Bungie hadn't listened to anything that required real effort and chased their streaming community away. Seriously, when you see the numbers for all but Byf and a few others ... it's a giant red flag Bungie has failed to change with the times and build a community.

14 RepliesThey were done when they started D2, look who they made director, a person that has no experience at all, and you could easily see it because of what they did to the base game. The only time this game was fairly decent was with Forsaken and that is mainly due to Activision and the other studios. The last 4 year has been a huge hint of what they are as a "developer".

That kind of PVEVP system has been tried a dozen times over and even the people who are the designers of the games, the people who are responsible for the physics, are saying with fair consistancy "This game concept isn't good. In fact it's... what's that word that's opposite of *snap* bad, that's what we're saying it's bad, bad -blam!- awful. You have no player retention, your entire community is the most toxic -blam!- imaginable, and the only money you make off it is initial sale to people who will very much not be repeat customers. The game concept is *bad*." Marathon will probably be doa.

The abandon destiny after witch queen and just decided to give below the bare minimum and jack prices up for whatever reason and players have gotten nothing in return. Sorry we got terrible competitive, terrible trials , activities taking longer, power fantasy going away , less reward for our time, and more items in eververse. Thank you Bungie

I mean they are probably working on the next Destiny game aswell rn which is why we only get trash reissued content made by an uninspired untalented skeleton crew. I wouldnt be surprised if they work hard on a Destiny mobile gacha game to milk more money and replace D2 with that after the final shape. Get ready to buy the nostalgic hawkmoon for only 600 silver in the eververse store. They went this far with their greed, imo they wont stop anytime soon. Its time to ditch these clowns.

1 ReplyI was taken in by the hype and pre-ordered The last DLC. My fault and a bad mistake as it turned out to be an expensive fake. I've uninstalled the game and won't look back. No more Bungie rip offs for me I'm done with them. I'm enjoying Destiny 2 more now that I don't play it.

6 RepliesThis is why Im not gona get Marathon. I give it about a year before it dies anyways. Extraction looter shooters dont tend to last too long. And just looking at the cheaters in Trials that Streamers seem to constantly run into without any sort of punishment? You can probably bet your -blam!- that gate keeping in Marathon will be 100X worse.
