Since there is no way to contact Bungie directly concerning this, maybe it will gain the attention of someone who might be able to forward those to Bungie directly.
With the growing trend of handheld gaming PCs (Steamdeck, Rog Ally, Ayaneo etc...) which offer respectable gaming performance in a handheld factor there are now emerging new questions surrounding those type of devices and their specific features and possibilities which are not mentioned anywhere in the support pages except that gaming on Linux is not supported and proton will result in a ban. To be clear we are speaking of Windows not SteamOS.
Since those devices are quite new and the manufacturers software aren’t offering all the possibilities which one might want the PC community is doing what it’s doing best and is developing 3rd party apps to help enhance the experience and add missing features. Tools such as Steam Deck Tools and Handheld Companion are offering a variety of possibilities to change the TDP, clock speed, fan curve etc. Unfortunately some of those features seem to trigger some anti-cheats. Steam Deck Tools got an own page on this topic and it does concern some quite important settings for a handheld device (TDP and fan curve) which you might want to change if you are starting to run low on battery or battery packs.
Therefor the question arises will the use of those functionalities result in a ban in Destiny? It's only device management which is needed on those devices more then anywhere else.
Another topic is the Gyro sensor, which is part of those devices and which is nowhere mentioned in the support pages neither. Is the use of the gyro sensor for aiming bannable or not? If yes, will only the direct use result in a ban or will it be enough that the sensor is enabled to be bannable?

Edited by GrundleBeans: 6/21/2023 7:22:04 AMHi there. Please see Bungie's policies regarding 3rd party application compatibility found here and their PC system requirements found here. In short, Bungie does not provide technical support for 3rd party applications or devices. Their policy provides general guidance for types of things that are and aren't compatible, but they cannot provide an all-encompassing list of what is supported. If it is not listed, it is either a non-issue or something you assume any risk of incompatibility, performance issues, or a potential account ban for using while playing D2. I would recommend you look for what other people have said their experiences have been first with whatever specific device or app you intend to use. You can also refer to Bungie's ban policies found here for what things related to 3rd party apps may result in a ban.

3 RepliesBungie has already covered this in past TWaB newsletters. They do not support the Steam Deck. You can play D2 on it using Windows OS but using Linux or any other Steam Deck tools can result in a ban.
