Trials matchmaking is broken.
Whats wrong with matchmaking?
- Can't find other matched then going up against streamers/4kd players or cheaters.
- Can't find teammates who have been flawless before or have ever seen a positive kd.
Dont get me wrong, I'm not hating the players! the matchmaking is just so broken for me that I really don't see the reason in playing pvp at all. played destiny since d1's first dlc, never seen such sh*t matchmaking in my life.
Are me and my friend the only ones experiencing this?

I've only ever been flawless twice and I'm being matched with people that have 6+ flawless just that weekend. Trials of Osiris as of September of 2023 is the worst experience in fps gaming bar none. I can't play a single game of trials against people of my similar skill level and its infuriating. I just want a decent cataphract gl3 for PVE. Once I get one I'm not touching trials again until bungie does something, anything about the horrible matchmaking system.

Something very weird happened to me. I was playing Friday-Sunday finishing at like 7pm. I was getting stomped that entire period. Solo Q, Duos and Trios. Didn't matter what Q or who I was with. Nonstop stomping. Then I started playing again from Sunday 8pm - 12am and was non-stop stomping the other teams. Ended up flawless in the Solo Q, 7 wins not a single loss. Carried on playing for another 6-7 wins before I lost my first mercy then another 3-4 wins before second mercy and called it a night. Was very strange indeed

I keep finding it odd that since I went Flawless this week my MM always starts to take forever at 5 or 6 wins and the match quality decreases massively. All of the previous games start instantly and seem to be mostly balanced matches that aren't washouts for either team. Soon as I hit that 5th or 6th win I'll sit in orbit for up to 5 minutes at a time "Evaluating Guardians" before being put into back to back washout matches, or one where the connection is awful. Weirdly, once I reset my ticket I can find matches instantly again. At first I just thought it was coincidence but it keeps happening, 4 times consecutively for me this weekend so far. I'm not planning on trying again for a 5th 😂

Went into his chat to say gg and that I shouldn’t have gone against him and said that it’s no longer a card based mm and that I was not in the kiddy baby pool lol I can assure you that after resetting multiple flawed card I was def in the kiddy pool and shouldn’t have gone against someone clearly better than me 🤣

Are you good enough / cheating hard enough to have a 2.0+ K/D or Are you lucky enough to get matched against sub 1.0 players enough games in a row to easily go flawless. The above 2 being the case makes an absolutely -blam!- experience for 90% of the player base....in large part because not only will you have a hard time going flawless but if you don't go flawless you get 2nd tier rewards that can actively make it harder in the future to go flawless because those who have gone flawless now have just that tiny bit more of an edge with better loot. speaking from experience I had a normal immortal after the first weekend got an adept one the next and the difference in range was noticeable.

12 RepliesThere’s a system you can do to get easier matches. And they all do that and then people you shouldn’t be playing against end up playing against you. I personally never use it. But it is a thing and that’s what all the streamers and 4KD the players do.

6 RepliesI feel you, trials is complete trash. Out of 10 matches maybe I'll get lucky and get 1 team that is so good we dominate the other team or play against people so bad it's a easy W. I'm not the best pvp player but I'm decent enough. But I'm always paired with 2 players that really don't know what they are doing. The sad part is it's always people who carry the trials emblem or glowing gear saying yeah Im a good player that's why I have all this. But in reality their skills say I paid for my wins.

2 RepliesNope. The matchmaking sucks. 5/10 times I have to double carry my team while the other team gets the godliest players. I wish there was lobby balancing. The teams should be balanced so that there is an equal OVERALL kd across both teams, but only for solo or duo queues (i.e., 2 gods on each team and one noob on each team). Note: 3s playlist should be CBMM and the solo/duo pool should be balanced. I'm not advocating for SBMM.

It’s because the higher kd players no know due q is the easy way to win. Ppl who play with friends are in a 3 stack playing streamers who do crry’s and solo (often less skilled players) just play solo. So yeah if your solo you ether have a decent teammate or your 1v3 against avrg to below arvg players. This is what everybody wanted right to make trials a less sweaty aka casual playlist well here it is. I don’t mind as a above avrg player easy games when it playing solo

Just tried going flawless today only to get shafted by the game giving me double primary Andy, no master worked gear new lights, or just stubborn pushers that get picked off every round as teammates that have no game sense. Yet what I get as enemies is tryhards with immortal titans with cloud strike and peace keepers, fusions with Antaeus, oath keeper le monarch, or graviton floating warlocks. This is why I can’t stand ccbm for trials as it feels lol every time I play they expect me to just carry ppl. I was on my first game and lost while they went to the lighthouse. Practice pool working flawlessly. This matchmaking needs a serious rework as the lobby balancing clearly doesn’t work. I wish they secretly took loadouts into account so that the meta Anndies vs each other exclusively while ppl not using meta stuff can atleast have some fun oh wait I forgot it’s trials you aren’t allowed to have fun. Dumb idea ik.

It’s come down to luck with RNG of your teammates if you’re solo queuing. Duo seems the go to. But this apparent “anti stomp/farm” mechanic that Bungie said they implemented doesn’t exist, it was just a straight up lie. I matched against a really good player yesterday 5 or 6 times in a row and the team they were on won all matches. Definitely contributed to his flawless ticket for the week. I did play more games today and was lucky with RNG for my teammates and got flawless but did lose both my mercy’s so it was pretty touch and go. Good luck may RNG be with you

It went from a fun playlist to another terrible mode is D2

If Bungie does nothing about the cheaters . There is no way anyone should ever buy marathon . We will see if Bungies does anything soon, if they don't then there not a gamming company worth wasting your time or money on. They cant even take care of what they have.

It's how it's gonna be forever since bungie is a sh!t company that doesn't seem to know how to balance or fix their game. My friend and I won 4 games in a row. The enemy team looked like a chicken with its head cut off. But after that, we got nothing but game after game of players who were way better than us. •I know trials is a game that is end game. But if it's an end-game pvp. That means the skill of the player should also be facing players who are in the same skill level. But it's not. •The times I went flawless were because I faced players who were under skilled than me and my team.

If I see that on screen message twice in the first 3 rounds, I'm gone. I'll take the 30 minute suspension, go have a smoke, a drink, and a poop. Repeat They need to revert it to season 19. I've never seen anything reverted in Destiny so I don't think they even have the capability.

Bruh this shyt is full of cheaters. There’s no fuking way any player is legitimate with a 5 or 6 overall kd in trials. And yes these known cheaters are on console. Bungie doesn’t give a fuk and it shows cause they won’t ban cheaters. If anyone wants proof of cheaters I’ll gladly send them their Bungie ID’s. The best players in the world that are legit don’t even play at a 5 or 6+ overall kd

I played 10 trials game, and ever one was so one-sided. It like they stack one side. Now, if it's 0-3, I just jump off the map to end the game faster.
