current state of Commendations is destroying the whole Rank system
Commendations, Commendations the current state is horrible.
Since around 80% of players (random or lfg) dont give any coms (but i do). Tbh i would completly remove them cause no one looks at them for sure.
If whyever you think nono they are important for rank things then change the system weather forcing players to give em or players giving them to players left already without doing it get them back for themselves.
For me aslong as the Commendations are in rank system like its now the whole rank system is ingnorable.
Its not important but brainless like its now :)

Now ive done all gm`s (except lightblade even all solo) the dungeon ive done solo all this rank 11 things but i stuck on rank 10 cause of guess what... im at 950 and need 1530. So Bungie thinks my next step is getting more commendations? What a pain what a waste or?

1 ReplyWhy they were introduced into the system is beyond me a total waste of Bungie resources which would have been better spent on new crucible maps or new strikes. Nobody asked for them, it represents Bungie at its worst my way or no way.

It’s stupid, I’m about 300 off getting to rank 9. I rarely get them now because people don’t bother. Seems weird that doing raids and dungeons is easier to tick off than getting a 900+ commendation score that resets each season 🤷♂️

Commendations are nothing but a hamster meter to measure how hamster are you in d2, imo.

Rank is a soft sell for old content, and staying current. That’s it. I’m amazed at the amount of people who don’t understand it was built for nothing more than that.

Entire commendation system was only implemented to increase grind with zero increase in rewards or content aside from a number and shiny effect This company CONSTANTLY pushes grind increases without increasing rewards or content.

1 ReplyYour commendation score will go up just by giving them. You don’t need to receive any to rank up. It is quicker if you give and receive, but it isn’t necessary.

I was thinking about this some time ago. I wish it was an automatic thing, let the game reward you, instead of your peers. Similar to Guardian Games, either have preset thing you can do that rewards commendations or end of match results will automatically reward based on what you did. Example, most kills in PVP match, most damage in PVE, no deaths in a strike or raid. The more you play the more commendations you can get, now no worries about who will give u a commendation, the game rewards you as you play.

I think the system is moronic and adds nothing but I still give them when it works, some seem invested in it and it costs me nothing to do.

Because they made it a part of the rank progression system, they are meaningless outside best dressed.

If your commendations are bugged, load into a root of nightmares solo and then leave immediately, it will fix it

1 ReplyIt should automatically give you commodation when you play an activity. Gm, master, legend nightfall. Raid, dungeon solo flawless, master solo flawless lost sector, master solo story mission there all should give heroic commodation And everything else gives +2 or +1 It will do 2 things. Players will play thise activities and no one will complain. Relying on other random players is waste of time unless you play with fireteam.

Pretty sure a lot of players are still experiencing the bug where you cannot commendate others.
