Considering how much fashion matters to so many players, locking exclusive shaders behind a paywall feels bad, and feels even worse when you can only get them with other cosmetics I'll never use.
I won't buy an event pass or an exotic ornament with cosmetics I will never use just to get a shader. Not even for bright dust. I understand bundling for a 'discount' but exclusivity feels bad.
Please go back to shaders being available for bright dust and sold individually.

1 ReplyBut if they make everything avaliable for bright dust, they'll have to price hike other things. Like the season pass. Oh wait

1 ReplyAll cosmetic items should only be available from eververse imo.

Don't worry! Buying this stuff will help Bungie create their next free to play mobile monetization heavy game! * We can all help Bungie by buying some ghost, ships, sparrows, finishers, shaders, armour sets, ornaments, emotes, transmog, materials, projections, and more! Imagine if we earned even 30 percent in game what eververse offers. It's free to play so it's ok now right?

1 ReplyShaders are an acceptable example of what can be sold for cash. You hear that Bungie..... All black shader I'll give you 500 silver. Book it!
-
and most of these shader that can be bought only by silver look the same as normal shader yet they charged us by silver if shader actually has different effect like taken or siva particle then i don't mind if they want us to pay with silver, but here we go again another black/white/red shader that already in game 3 year ago

3 RepliesShaders are an example of the exact thing that should be sold for silver lol.

My guess is they’ll come for dust in future seasons like other Silver only cosmetics from previous seasons. So you’re just going to have to wait.

5 RepliesCosmetics are literally what microtransactions are supposed to be used for -- and the best way to garner sales for those is to put higher quality shaders behind paywalls. This is Non-P2W Microtransactions 101, honestly. Is it annoying for players wanting those shaders? Yes - but we've long since passed the point that Bungie is going to change their ways; and the Eververse is basically their "cash cow" to fuel Marathon at this point.
-
I did buy one, whats the issue here tbh? Its a business, fine with me.

Some common thought processes on microtransactions: 1. I'm not spending money on that. Never buys it. 2. I want that, but I'm not spending money on it. -blam!- Bungie, why do you have to charge for cosmetics? Thinks about it. Eventually buys it. 3. My friend has that, and it looks cool! I'm buying that no questions asked! Everyone in the game actually inspects my character and will envy me! 4. I have infinite money, I'm buying it because -blam!- you, I'm rich. 5 I'm buying that even though I'm behind on my rent. I'll just eat a packet of saltine crackers and have a glass of water for breakfast.

Amen!
