1 ReplyThis game was done for months leading up to D2. Unfortunately, news of its death has been highly exaggerated (and Mass Effect Andromeda was pretty bad at launch). Will Starfield be the new Destiny killer? I doubt it. The Destiny 2 die-hards will try (and die) harder. But I'll certainly be taking a good look at Starfield, the new Diablo, and some other titles both imminent and on the horizon, with one exception: I have no interest in new Bungie IP.

Dont get me wrong, double primaries was my go to style of play even after the change during Forsaken but the game is an after thought. Exotics dont feel “exotic” enough. Focusing weapons is one of the prime ways to play the game. Removing leveling only to notice content was severely more lackluster than players thought. Everything is either a reskin or underdeveloped with no real potential for changes that make the game an “ARPG” even though the devs believe the game is a MMOARPG. The game has no real flavor. Just a money grab. Mind you I dont play the game much anymore because grinding was too much of a chore versus an enjoyment for fun. Been on D3 to D4 over the past few years and you can see the difference to the max of how the developers handle the game. Do I still love the thought of the game?? Of course because the game is vastly unique. The direction??? Nope because they oniy care about their direction for the game versus what and where the game needs to be after all these years. The game literally has had several years to give planets a face lift ie create planetary world bosses, change public events for massive play between players, customization for sparrows, ghosts and ships or ship/sparrow to ship/sparrow combat. All they have done over years is create META after META and add rehashed content as new content to AVOID making content actually compelling, long lasting and effective that is fun and rewarding versus a chore. D2 is a chore game and nothing more. Nothing wrong with supporting this game but when are some of you going to realize that Destiny is a the hamster wheel that never reaches the potential “we” as players desire it to achieve. Just carrot on a stick.

Despite all the BS about how horrible Bungie/Activision is even though they both have a terrible track record and are a joke as a business. Without Activision, destiny most likely wouldn't have ever existed, and if Activision didn't ride their -blam!- to do their job, things would have been far worse off. Just looking at how screwed up things have been since the business went on their own is all the proof anyone needs.

1 ReplyNah, but it sounds like you might be if your still hanging around on forums... and playing... Sorry if you're having a less-than-ideal gaming experience right now but plenty of us are loving D2 and playing a lot. Summer vacation is here, so Imma sit down and play so much Destiny today, oh boy! Dungeons and raids with friends, boosted infamy this week and Gambit is so much fun with a team. Oh and Lightblade GM is open now, with Adept Wendigo up for grabs, nice! I've been so busy running raids with friends I haven't had time to really get into fishing yet, or the deep dives, only hit tier 7 once, will have to build into that more... and I think I'm close to gilding a couple seals again, have to check off a few more boxes. It's cool that Bungie encourages me to shake things up and run guns I wouldn't normally choose on my own. I'm not trying to argue with anyone, if you are determined to be unhappy YOU WILL BE but for everyone else reading the forums, see how someone can be cranky about the state of the game and someone else might be absolutely loving it? Wild, isn't it? I will try and check back here, the responses amuse me, but it probably won't be today, I've finished eating and now it's time to hop online, let's GO!

Like all companies….Activision was a solid company not now . Destiny will be done when Bungie pull the plug in a couple of years if that ….I think Bungie are keen to cut d2 loose .

2 RepliesActivision did not do anything for this game. They were a publisher, they did not do any development on Destiny 2 whatsoever. Publishers do not do development work unless they are also the developer, which Activision was not and was never. All of the decisions development wise are Bungie's. Not sure why Activision is being brought into it.

This game reminds me of a scene in Apollo 13. After the explosion when all the spacecraft systems are failing, and they are being listed one by one by a specialist, the flight director looks up and says "What do we have on the spacecraft that's good ??" .. The rest of the team mumble and disappear quietly. Bungo is the team. We are the flight director.

9 RepliesAh yes, back when the endgame was fighting through xp throttling to get bright engrams. Back when earned loot looked like junk, but eververse sold the ornament to make it look good. Back when the story made zero sense because the suits forced mid-production reboots on both games. I don’t think you want Activision back. I sure don’t.
