Dungeons feel like they’re being left behind in a way that makes them inconsistent with the rest of the game. Enough that they have become an outlier in being the only activity that doesn’t have some means to alleviate the unreasonable side of RNG.
Once Garden of Salvation gets updated, dungeons will be the ONLY permanent activity in the game that lack both focusing AND crafting.
“But they’re farmable”
So are raids when they are the rotator and yet they have BOTH focusing AND crafting. This is a gross inconsistency that comes at the cost of player time and effort. The dungeon weapon chase does not respect either of those things.
Let’s look at them individually:
Shattered Throne - doesn’t have its own loot, weapons have not been updated to meet the current standard for endgame rewards
Pit of Heresy - doesn’t have its own loot except for one weapon, has not been updated to meet the current standard for endgame rewards
Prophecy - doesn’t have an exotic, weapons have not been updated to meet the current standard for endgame rewards
Grasp of Avarice - weapons have not been updated to match the current standard of for endgame rewards
The above dungeons have never been updated to have origin traits either.
Duality - has two reissued weapons which are the ONLY two dungeon weapons that are craftable
Spire of the Watcher - has two reissued weapons that are now in the world pool
The first few dungeons have been completely left behind, and all dungeons seem to be arbitrarily excluded from the current standard for how players can chase specific rolls they want for weapons.
Being helpless to improve your chances of getting what you want is not fun. Dungeons need the raid treatment, or they need at least ONE of focusing or crafting.
Almost no one I run with wants to a dungeon beyond the first two weeks of launch. Almost no one I run with has more than 1 or 2 desired dungeon weapon rolls across all dungeons in the game. Running a dungeon 30 times at 3 encounters each and getting no rolls you want is to be disappointed 90 times in a row by a single activity, and that’s not even including secret chests.
This is a fundamentally awful and unrewarding system. It’s just not fun. It’s a needlessly stingy slog.

The entire game is in a poor state. Its supposed to be a first person shooter but now its just a hammer spamming simulator. Roll on Starfield.

Prophecy and shattered throne are the only dungeons I would consider great. Shattered throne obviously has been power crept. Pit was great but I got to the final boss first play thru and was disappointed as I was expecting him to be a mid way boss like the ogre in shattered throne, also zero time constraints on final boss which can trivialise it a little.

I haven't even played the new one yet or gone fishing. Honestly, without needing to get pinnacles, the pve side kind of sucks right now

A majority of dungeon weapons suck

Craftable weapons eventually become a thing with dungeons but usually it’s way after everyone stops caring about them not when they 1st come out. Bungie has mastered taking old junk and making hot and new without investing any new money
-
All encounters should drop a weapon and a piece of armor guaranteed Given how trash the rng in this game is
-
Careful. The only thing Bungo are likely to do re Dungeoms is charge more for them going forward. Lazy... Greedy... Scummy... Bungie!!!

The new dungeon is excellent.

Well Sunday I am planning to do all 7 dungeons back to back on Stream. Yes the loot won’t matter to me but they are fun!!
-
now post this on Bungie Twitter, they dont respond here
-
They need to add Acendant alloys into Dubgeon loot pools, currently there is only 2-2.5 ways to get them: The Wellspring(Master(uncommon chance)) Weekly story mission on Master(Uncommon drop rate)
-
Some dungeon gear is the best stuff in the game, The Prophecy gear and beyond are still completely viable in endgame content today.
-
Bungie does not care at this state of the game. I'm sorry.

Bungie: “ok ok, we’ll get our D2 team of three part time employees who used to work at Burger King last month working on this after they fix all the bugs!” P.S. Marathon!

Don’t really agree with you on this one, although I see your point. The dungeons could, at the very least, do with having the perk pools of weapons updated to match current standards. But in terms of having to run them multiple times for a specific weapon roll: consider the fact that most weapons have a more less equal counterpart somewhere else in the game. With the exception of a few, how often do you come across a legendary weapon that can’t be replaced by another one?

I see that you haven't bought the Good RNG ornament from Eververse, so this one's on you

Edited by CrimzonReaper: 6/9/2023 3:58:52 PMAt this point I’d be happy with a ghost shell mod that lets me determine if I want armour or weapons from a dungeon encounter. I’m so tired of farming for a weapon and only getting armour or vice versa.
Once Garden of Salvation gets updated, dungeons will be the ONLY permanent activity in the game that lack both focusing AND crafting.
They have stated they consider raids to be for weapons (why they have no artifice armor), and dungeons are for armor (why they do not have craftable weapons).* *The two in Duality being the exception, and that felt like a them just finding a way to get the last two Opulent weapons into the game and not overloading the seasonal set.

So, I was able to farm BX Battler, surprisingly. Since I never did the dungeon or any of the Xur activities with my Titan (or something like that) I was able to turn engrams into Xur and only get the Battler. So even though it wasn’t craftable I was able to get the roll I like.

Dungeon exotics are not farmable like weekly raid exotics are minus 1K weekly dungeon exotics should 100% be farmable and weapons should 100% be craftable with updated perks. They are my favorite activity in the game as raids are just to long for my time frame.

This is a non issue.... Prefer the team works on new content.

After the backlash of crafting weapons I'm pretty sure Bungie won't ever add crafting to Dungeons. I'm also pretty sure Ghost and Spire's reason for not having any craftables was the backlash while Ghost lacked any of the reprise weapons to begin with.

The older 4 dungeons do need to be updated at some point, but I’d put this on the back burner for now compared to other things. It’d be nice, but I’d rather them prioritize other things over it. If they want to give us updated dungeon loot once we get updated Garden and VoG, by all means I think that’d be great.

Edited by AENIMA1: 6/9/2023 12:35:38 PMWould be nice to have a good reason to farm the older dungeons. Apart from some of the outdated loot, I do enjoy running dungeons.
This is a fundamentally awful and unrewarding system.
I am pretty sure this is written in the halls of Bungie for what they strive to create in general for this game.
