What should Bungie do with Destiny after The Final Shape?
CARRY ON
Continue the game, much as it is now.
IMPROVE
Similar to above, but with more resources and greater focus on improvements.
LONG HIATUS
Take a few years (maybe more?) to switch to a better engine and build something fresh that’s set in the Destiny universe, but significantly different.
END
End Destiny and create a totally new PvE focussed IP.

Just to clarify, I’m asking what you want to see happen, not your predictions.
Nobody knows what Bungie will decide to do (plans can change and predictions can be wrong).

The only way to make it successful: Is rework everything on dedicated servers first and foremost. -Make it truly open world on a handful of planets. World sizes as big as Skyrim and filled as such. And instead of quick teleports use your ships to fly speedily from one end of the world map to the other. -Leave pvp on creation mode as a general concept. (Infinite forest forge mode) Aside from one normal game mode for the week. And a second one for the weekend. -Guns need to be related to the setting, raids, tower factions, seasonal, and dungeon weapons shouldn't be the only example of this. Gun geometry should differ greatly not just by exotic or raid standard. -gun crafting/perks should be visibly represented on the gun (scopes, mags, Lazer sights, barrels, stocks, and smaller details to represent visually passive perks) -armor should be more individual. Not just by helmet arms torso legs class item but by trinkets, why not triumph medals being actual medals you can opt to wear like a soldier, more visual fx, etc. (I'll post more in replies of this comment that way it's not more wall of text)

Like the end of a crap TV show. -Let servers degrade to ween you off of Destiny so you'll buy Moronathon. -Further tweak matchmaking to promote horribly laggy lobbies and completely lopsided games The game is also littered with cheats and is basically fully compromised at this point. There's literally no reason to login anymore. We've seen everything good this franchise had to offer many years ago. It's already over.

Bungie did say they did plan to continue destiny after the final shape.

Honestly, I think they should improve upon it. Have dedicated servers, better balancing, higher quality content, both in scale and story. And do away with the seasonal model. Keep seasonal activities but do away with the battle pass. If they want more money, make higher quality eververse cosmetics that will make people want to purchase them instead of having mediocre ones.

2 RepliesInteresting question. I imagine they will probably do what they have done with D1 and just leave it as it's finished product, as long as that doesn't take up too many resources. As for next, obviously they have Marathon that they are reintroducing. After that who knows. Honestly I'd love a prequel. Something about the time the traveler first came to Earth and involving the Warlords of that era. A new guardian that is just born and is struggling to learn the world around them. They must go out and find a teacher, make allies, and enemies along the way. Decide to become a warlord in their own right.
