There is no way from close range a hunter with a hand cannon should be able to jump, dodge and bounce up and down and just spam his trigger hitting all three crit shots outgunning my sidearm every single time. My sidearm isn’t hitting hardly any crits while he’s all over but a hand cannon hits all 3 every time. Either the hitbox is way to big or the aim assist is out of control. Auto rifles, pulses are zero issue for any sidearm close up.

Bungie admitted that while all weapon types have a version of aim assist, each archtypes version is different, & 140 hand cannons have the most potent form of all, a 140 hand cannon with 70 aim assist will have more aim assist then a 600 rpm auto rifle with 70 aim assist... or any other weapon in the game that has "70" aim assist on their stats, fun right?

Oof that's honestly kind of embarrassing.

I’ll often swap to a pulse or sidearm just to have a few easy games, just to take a break from the frustration of using a Handcannon (I hadn’t broken a controller in my life until I really started trying to learn to use a Handcannon, and I still feel awkward with them after 2 years) Not sure what kind of cracked people your going against, but despite the aim assist Handcannons don’t seem to be exactly as easy as you make them out to be from what I have experienced. They seem to have a lower TTK than most other weapons in their range bracket and basically NEED to peak shoot. Most other weapons don’t NEED you to do anything. Not to mention that other weapons feel much more forgiving, whereas Handcannons will punish you for even landing a body shot. The aim assist feels like the only saving grace of this weapon type. If that gets nerfed it better get some damn forgiveness, by making it a 2 head 1 body. Otherwise leave it alone. However that is just my opinion from my own experience. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think they’re the hardest weapons to use, but I do feel like people seem to think that they’re super easy to use when they aren’t.
