I see a mass exodus of PvP streamers when Marathon drops
Dedicated servers. Totally devoted to PvP. Probably Overwatch level tournament play with broadcast esports gold...
Yeah. These guys will drop Destiny like a peer to peer bad habit.

at this point im assuming anything bungie touches is gonna be garbage through and through. between reach, destiny 1 year 2, and d2 they’re just riding the halo 3 hype at this point

1 ReplyI don’t see it since extraction shooters aren’t really popular. Most people that even bother making one don’t tend to have long term retention either and because it’s bungie doing it, I don’t see marathon being a hit. I see them trying to use an old name to make money is all I see lol.

The fact that the game will have dedicated servers and it's totally PvP focused doesn't mean it will be appealing enough for the average Destiny PvP player or Destiny streamer. After all, we haven't seen nothing of the game so far if not a CGI Trailer that is just a concept rappresentation of the game and the classic ViDoc where Bungie's employees high-five each other saying how cool the game is and how excited they are for it. Meaningless.

1 ReplyThey won't stay. Marathon is going to be a competitive PvP game and Destiny players want anything but that. Once they realize Marathon won't be filled with nothing but low skill cheese, they will all vacate. Marathon will be closer to Destiny 2 year 1 than it will be to what Destiny PvP is currently. Destiny 2 PvP currently, and for the last couple years, is being built by the PvE team. So if you like ANY part of what Destiny 2 PvP offers currently, you will hate Marathon because it will be the complete opposite. And we know Destiny PvP players won't leave Destiny because currently there are plenty of PvP dedicated games to leave it for, and yet none of them have left yet. And simply because other PvP games don't offer the level of low skill cheese that Destiny does. So I see Marathon failing because Destiny players won't leave Destiny for it and non Destiny players will be bored with it after a month or so because it will just be another generic PvP shooter.
