Character Power Leveling
We desperately need some sort of character progression. You can’t just remove power grind and replace it with literally nothing. I’m already struggling to find anything to do when each week I would be playing the entire game going for pinnacles even if it only took 2 weeks to hit pinn cap at least it was something. You guys tried the same thing in season of worthy with no power increase and the majority hated it cause there was nothing else to do and what happened you brought it back the next season. Idk why you thought it would be different this time. It can’t just be nothing.

People hated worthy because the seasonal content was bad. This wouldn't be made better at all with some useless power levels.

1 ReplyMy experience has been the opposite. I played so much this last week. Not having to worry about leveling up freed me to do what I actually enjoy in the game so I've been playing alot more. I'm not sure how long this will last but right now I like this change

2 RepliesNah the grind for an arbitrary power level that doesn’t matter because of how the game is scaled is tired. Grind for loot not power. Your problem should be with the lack of worthwhile loot and content not the power smh.

Quite a lot of the community don't like the pointless grind each season as it doesn't achieve anything, it only gate keeps GM's when they unlock. Plus if you don't have anything to do just go play another game and have a break from Destiny, this game really takes a toll when you are constantly doing the pointless grind. ~EDIT~ This kind of post is what diminishes the overall quality of modern gaming. People seem to want "content" 24/7 without considering the quality and value of said content, but they are happy to pay $10-20 for garbage but as long as it's something to grind and keep them occupied. Their isn't anything wrong with having content droughts, yes it can be boring not having anything new to do, but it can mean that the developer is working on something amazing and quite engaging. Not saying that happens all the time, i.e the April update D1 was pretty garbage, but it has more potential than the seasonal crap we have been getting that doesn't hold much value. I.e last season with Amanda dying off, didn't really change anything in the game or even really impact us as the player. It was a "oh no, anyway".

Shows how empty the game is if all you need to struggle finding anything to do is no power grinding and a massive red flag for a looter shooter

I tend to agree with you. It was probably the main reason we had left to do most anything in destiny. For those saying it gatekept GM’s? It did, so Bungies answer is to now make you get even more artifact levels instead - no gain at all. Plus its now painfully difficult to get pinnacles to level up toons that weren’t already 1810. Spent last week running what pinnacles are left on both titan and hunter, got 6 special weapon pinnacles on titan, and 6 heavy weapon pinnacles on hunter. Not one armour piece. So instead of fixing it, Bjngie have once again -blam!- it up. No point even trying

When people were asking for the removal of power leveling I was saying if they do remove it it will expose how very little content Bungie is putting into this game. I knew I would start seeing posts like this within the first few weeks of the season.

6 RepliesI'm already done with this season. There is literally no reason to play. Went from 6 back up to 7. So what? All my armor and weapons are already 1810. I'm power capped for most hard content and don't get anything for doing legendary and master lost sectors. The only fun I've had is just grinding through bounties on the Moon, EDZ, Cosmodrome, Nessus and Europa. At least with that I can see my light level go up and I feel like I've done something.
