You know what I think is funny? I'm no PvP main... but I am a mechanics and gameplay physics nerd.
It was like a few months back. Hold on sec... 1st some context so it will make sense. Games don't use real world physics when it comes to shooting, none do... or at least none that people actually play... there are target sims out there. In Destiny, when you look at your weapons the stats are archetype specific or adjusted. The aim assist stat on a 180 HC is not transferable with the aim assist stat on a 540 pulse for example. Those metrics are reference points for comparison amongst that specific weapon archetype. That's the context.
Here's the truth about Destiny shooting physics and why no really skilled FPS players (aside from SirD) really play D2 PvP. It's all a lie. Sry. Aim assist runs this game in PvP. The honorable weapon - I'm talking the pistol, the handcannon... in THIS game has the highest aim assist of any weapon in the game. This was directly confirmed by Bungie a few months ago.
The irony, HCs were always seen as the skilled choice... turns out, the exact opposite. Your aim on target is more legit with literally any other primary by the numbers. You know what archetype of weapon has the 2nd highest aim assist? Snipers.
So... both "marksman" style weapons are literally training wheeled in this game. The crits are fake, a lie... more often than any other type of weapon in the entire game.
There you have it, HC/Snipe/Shotty... the game does most the work. Not skillful weapons like people thought they were... not the pinnacle regarding actual accuracy. Headshots with a dad rifle are MORE skillful than headshots with Hawkmoon... and it hurts me to say that, I'm not kidding.
Use what you want, embrace ability spam... you're not any less of a player if you don't use HC/Snipe/Shotty... in fact, those are actually the "easy mode" weapons in respect to aim and hitting crits.
I don't miss it at all. Handcannons able to compete with Scouts and Pulses, Shotguns with crazy range. The Crucible was just sliding Shotguns with basically infinte Special Ammo (those time Ammo Economy was different) and Handcannons firing from every range. Personally speaking, I found it was the most oppressive meta we've ever had after the Recluse/Mountaintop meta.
Agreed
That's the time people actually played the game instead of sitting in spawn with scouts and pulse rifles. And the time smgs were actually balanced.
"Meta" is just a excuse to use what others tell you to use because "it's good" or you see others have success with a certain loadout.
We are all different with different play styles so what works for you may not work for someone else. So use what you want to use.
What do you mean was, Matador 2nd most used weapon in the game
You claim Shotguns are trash , but still use them religiously, yeah it sucks but I can't use anything else
Here's to the next time you get deleted from halfway across the map by a fusion, if it's me I will use the cry emote 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh, and don't tell Bungie, but apperantly Enhanced Headseeker is like Magnificent Howl on 4 burst pulses
