What I had to do to fix this was go into C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp then find the Destiny 2 folder and change the name of it to whatever you want. I changed mine to Destiny 2.0 and then it worked after that.

this error was vaguely familiar to something I got in the past so searched around before I potentially wasted my time reinstalling since last time I got something like this the solution wasn't a reinstall, and what do you know this is the real solution and it still works

Thx bro, This worked for me! At first I had trouble finding C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp, but I searched up a YouTube video and it enlightened me that the file was hidden. To fix this you go to the view tab at the top of your file explorer and check hidden items box, then it should be able to find the file.

Hadn't installed Destiny 2 for over 2 years and got this problem, but changing the temp folder to Destiny 2.0 helped me fix it, thank you. (20/06/2023)
