Why is pvp so insanely competitive rn, is sbmm really off?
Okay so I'm pretty casual, I literally only play control. I have been having my -blam!- handed to me a lot lately and a lot of the players on the other teams are insane. Crazy movement speed, crazy aim, running all over the map destroying me and my team.
Why does it seem like I'm matched against the gods of pvp? I can usually maintain a kda of 2.5, but lately I've had some matches where despite my efforts to adapt to the other team, I end up with ~1 kda.
So what is with matchmaking? Is SBMM really off, or is the player base dwindled down to the most hardcore players who are the best? Or is it lobby balancing? Do they think I'm a god so therefore the better players get balanced to the other team?

1 ReplyNormally sit at a 2.2kda and my games have been insane, 50 games into the season im sitting at .92 kd with a 30% wnl ratio. Been trying to test new guns or builds and every lobby is a team of death ballers with ascendent emblems. Play is painfully passive and It feels more competive than comp or trials.

5 RepliesNope, if its real sweaty then its sbmm. If you are suddenly doing really good and getting maybe 30+ kills then thats probably cbmm. If you are a bad player in general, cbmm or sbmm is not enough to save you.

About the same for me usually around 2.5-3.0 kda and this season the same so far

Yeah It's been crazy for me as well for some reason . Somethings gotta be off with the new matchmaking for sure

Sbmm is still on in regular control, the main crucible playlist. The relentless playlist is the CBMM one.

Crucible Labs no idea as nothing on description 🤷🏻♂️ PS doesn’t matter matchmaking CBMM/SBMM it’s players making it competitive as they chose loadouts, use Meta cheese, and choose get into stacks etc . If players used non meta loadouts and didn’t try pub stomp in stacks then you have a more relaxed game no matter the matchmaking..
