So, you wanna sell Marathon to me, a loyal D2 fan? You wanna do this while D2 is such a stinking mess? Constantly unable to get on. When you get on, you get booted. Nothing new here right? Been this way for awhile. Utterly disappointing

2 RepliesAs a pvp main, and -blam!- I've seen bungie devs such as merc having discussions on podcast with weapon balancing. All I can say is, he's out of touch and has no clue what he's talking about with everything. So I'm expecting the same thing with marathon. If bungie as a studio has employed that moron then they've more than likely employed even more idiots for marathon. Hope they've spent a lot of money on that game and I hope it flops harder than even anthem flopped 👀

Nothing new here right? Been this way for awhile. Utterly disappointing
Yea lmfao, seeing how these clowns treat(ed) this franchise has made me lose all faith not only in destiny 2 (hence why I haven’t supported them with my time nor money in a long time) but also in any future bungle products. As a result, I’m never giving these clowns a cent of my money. As a former halo and destiny 1 player, I’m done with this company. There’s also no guarantee that they won’t just abandon Marathon in “X” amount of years after it’s release in order to focus on something different, leaving that community and those players in the dirt like they did with destiny 2.
-
3 RepliesI know for a fact I’m not getting marathon. Personally I just don’t like extraction shooters, but I also just don’t trust Bungie in the slightest to execute gameplay like that properly.
-
2 RepliesBut this time it will be different. Bungle says it will be amazing so it must be true. I'm going to buy ten copies just to support their amazing work. And I'll send the boss at Sony a thank you card for rewarding Bungle's endless success with D2.
-
1 ReplyIt will be free to play and Bungie can design it from the beginning to monetize the crap out of it. Meanwhile Destiny is obviously getting resources diverted to this game.
-
9 RepliesIt's an Overwatch clone. I don't know why anyone would ever play it with what they've done to pvp in this game. Yet another cross play pvp game. Good luck with that. AND they recycled the name.

4 RepliesPvp isn’t a focus hence why they sent their OG bungie devs to work on it. Marathon isn’t new
-
Why is this a surprise to anyone who's been hanging around here? People who play Destiny suffer from Amnesia.
-
3 RepliesDestiny a very successful franchise. Not perfect, the pvp was never meant to be on counter strike levels of competitiveness. They haven’t had their best teams working on the game over the last few years and it shows. I’m willing to give Marathon a shot. If bungie is making a pvp only game I think it has potential. We need to see gameplay first to really say, but can’t lie I’m a hyped. If it’s good I’ll drop D2
-
Considering many D2 plyers hate pvp and this is a pvp extraction shooter i'm guessing they aren't trying to sell it to the D2 player but the pvp player whoever they are. And truth is if it's satisfies the target audience nobody will care what Destiny's state is.
-
Their PvP Dev team from Destiny 2 is going into Marathon, and has possibly worked there for a while which means Bungie has been using the Money they've been getting into both Marathon/Destiny 2 while still working on Destiny itself.

1 ReplyYet another salt mine collapse into OffTopic. I implore our Bungie overlords to extend salt mine capacity so that the innocent cave dwellers can go about our business safely. #prayingforpeace

2 RepliesMarathon announcement was simply a diversion to try and take players minds away from just how bad and how much the Destiny franchise has regressed. Go fish. Does anyone truly believe Bungie is capable of making a good game nowadays? Go fish. Nice that we learnt that the rumours of studio resources being pulled from Destiny to support new titles were 100% true. No wonder PVP has been neglected. The Destiny PVP team was pulled and was busy developing Marathon further showcasing why nothing new was created for Destiny PVP. ie maps Oh well. It’s time to go fish.
Why even try Marathon when D2 is such a disaster?
Ha! D2 is in shambles, and they have the audacity to announce this?! 🤣 These guys are so hollow they will never taste a cent from me. I’ll never buy anything from them after what they did here. Absolutely nothing here but a shamble mess of shallowness!🤣
-
1 ReplyMarketing a hardcore PvP extraction FPS to a largely PvE crowd 🤣 Really out of touch.
-
Of course you don’t like it…anything bungie automatically is bad right?
-
Thank goodness it's a PVP game. My investment with Bungie ENDS with Destiny 2.
-
After i see how bungo is handling all the issues with destiny, I'm not going near marathon ever.

2 RepliesEdited by $hirtless Captain Kirk: 5/26/2023 12:26:30 AMI'm not interested in the slightest because of my experience with Destiny. I played the OG stuff in high school and we had some good times. That means nothing in light of all the nonsense I've seen with Destiny. They said dedicated servers right. After all these years, you can't even believe them on that simple statement. Not to mention it's a PVP based game and they've been terrible at PVP since online gaming began.
-
I think is kind of hilarious the company that made such a mess of PVP in Destiny 2 is creating a PVP only game. Can't trust them to create a balanced & fair game since they kept failing at it for so many years. After all they use the same PVP team to create the new game
-
4 RepliesD2 is being ran by interns. All the vets went on for other projects.
-
8 RepliesEdited by The Hermit IX: 5/25/2023 11:22:50 PMIt looks awesome to me. Dedicated servers has my attention. I wonder if they’re then coming to D2 as well for FS.
-
Pretty sure Marathon was actually worked on rigorously with the better developers. And it seems like it was assisted by people from Sony.
-
They don't expect Destiny players to carry over, they know their wallets have been bled dry thanks to their deceptive tactics. This game will draw in a whole new generation of kids eager to waste mommy and daddys money, after they get home from school and proceed to play over 6 hours in one sitting.
-
I already beat that game long before Master Chief was a speck in his creators eyes and Bungie was still in Chicago
