Fishing - A big hit
This is singlehandedly the most social feature the game has. And the fact that it rewards you for fishing with other guardians is genius. More social features like this. Whether you realized it or not bungie this is a social feature and the groundwork for something even better though fishing is done pretty well. If only there was a special loot drop you could get from it🤔

14 RepliesI wouldn't call this a big hit. It also isn't that well made. Boring qt mechanic and the fact that the fish doesn't go into your inventory right away. You are completely frozen when fishing and you just have to press one button to catch a fish. This is the most basic fishing mechanics. I am not expecting much and seeing how it is just a seasonal thing, it is serviceable. Public event however should not prevent you from fishing. I wouldn't call it a big hit because of a lot of people doing it, it is a new feature and is a quest step.

2 RepliesI like the fishing, not sure why but I do. I like jazzing up the Aquarium. I initially disliked the season, recycled location and weapons, but it's growing on me and I am enjoying it more and more.

1 ReplySo far I'm really enjoying fishing. Yesterday I went fishing with 2 clanmates and with al the fishes we catched we got a lot of loot from the aquarium and few red boards. I also got an Ascendant Shard from an Exotic fish. Definetely a chill way to get some loot.

1 ReplyOnly a big hit to me if this is indeed a sign that Bungie is going to abandon PVP(move it to Marathon) and focus on Destiny's future in turning it into an actual full blown FPS MMO open world type game that they originally teased back before D1 launch. Fishing is basically a staple of most MMOs(spent hours on in it both WoW and FF14) and if they can tie it into some kind of resource gain, maybe to the point we start getting actual crafting in the game after Final Shape, it would be pretty cool. Right now it's just another tedious grind activity.
