But I think cayde is going to be brought back as his own ghost in a way. I think he's going to have a very strong connection to the light, hence the overflow of energy literally coming out of him. This connection being a direct link to the traveler rather than a indirect one thru a ghost [spoiler]bros getting upgraded to hard wire ethernet[/spoiler]

I think it's a very manipulative thing for Bungie to do after the mess that was Lightfall. Revealing Cayde this early is meant to boost sales. If he only was revealed while playing the campaign people would go absolutely wild, however Bungie chose the option where we are left to wonder the hell is going on.

Is he a memory? Is he real? Is he really back? Who knows. If he's back, hope they'll do it right. If he's not, well, that's a low hit.

I think it’s less ghost/memory and more that they’re in a realm akin to an afterlife/ascendant plane. All of the narrative building blocks are there for the existence of an afterlife to exist. The Hive have ascendant planes The Neomuni have the River of Souls Our very characters are risen from the dead It’s that or that the rules of life are different in the garden (which is where I assume they are) and Ikora accidentally wills Cayde or his soul into being.

I hate Cayde 6 as much as the most part of bad written characters in this game, he was only good on D1 and the most annoying on Red War, I dont lie saying I was happy when they retired him on Forsaken, and I am not happy at all with his come back.
