Starfire Protocol’s nerf was complete overkill
You don’t even notice it working anymore with how severely they nerfed it to 2.5% and it is WAY TOO MUCH it should’ve been 10 or 8%
This was clearly a kneejerk nerf there’s no way on Earth Bungie actually tested this and went “hmm yeah I think that should be good”
I’m telling y’all this thing is useless now it provides almost zero benefit over running any other exotic.

Oh that's right, after a month people will forget about it, then a year from now when Bungie needs a quick "make people happy" moment, they'll buff it by a fraction of what it was in its glory days, and people will thank them. If radiant counted as empowered then the exotic would have a strong ad clear playstyle, but as it stands you still have to be in a well or a rift, unsure of lumina counts as empowered

You arent gonna be able to spam 900 nades in a dps phase anymore but it still makes the cooldown go a small bit faster so it still helps in the long run. Just my two cents. In the previous state it was completely overpowered. Now it is in a more easier to manage state and they can slowly increase the nade regen if it falls off too hard. People are just too used to having nades regend every two seconds.

I mean its great if you need some extra glimmer and an ascendant shard back. Making a forum posting crying about it wont get it restored. Just delete it and start using sunbracers till the nerf it. Bungies biggest mistake is nerfing the best exotics without making a other exotics worth using. Starfire was just the best exotic for solar because every other exotic for solar (except Lunafactions and boots of assembler) require kills to work. So on raid or boss fights they are useless. They didnt need to nerf starfire...just make the other exotics better. This season ive been running Vesper so far for arc because hust the simple change makes in great in alot of content (its disabled atm cause it bugs with skyburner). And you can do that without making a crazy power creep. Oh and the ability spam is a lie because thinks to the buff to thunderclap has seen three builds where titans have basically been spamming it with almost zeeo cooldown lol

The real issue is Bungie Cryhards and the Neomuna Meat Riders demand constant change to satisfy the fact they don’t touch grass. Therefore, we have to deal with all the fallout to maintaining their illusion of content and grind. Nerf Starfire just compels folks to play the same content a different way…even if they were already having fun…

It's not like anyone was or will be running a solar setup this season anyways. Aspect and surge pretty much dictates the meta now and solar didn't receive an invite from either.

Stripped out the melee range buff! No one asked for that! Warlock melee already sucked, now its just universally inferior! Bungie has zero clue what they are doing.

Add a short cooldown to when it generates energy, like 20% and wait 2-4 seconds before you get more. Take away the second grenade and its scorch while using SP, but increase its damage and radius. Or reduce it to 10% and increase it by a small amount per 10 discipline. It would've been fine with one of these.

1 ReplyIt’s funny how popular exotic nerfs seemed to happen almost like a cascade. Stomp33S got nerfed (twice), HOIL got hit and then SP practically got brained over with a brick-sized nerf.
