To clarify, if you complete a Grandmaster Nightfall and get the Adept Weapon of the week to drop, you can now only purchase the Adept Weapon from Zavala, but the standard one will not be eligible for purchase. As a small side note, the standard version will also be locked in collections.
Why do I care?
Grandmaster Nightfalls have become MUCH more accessible and enjoyable now, and the difficulty gap between Master and Grandmaster is much smaller. I fact, it could be argued that Master nightfalls are harder, as they can have modifiers like Famine or Attrition, whereas Grandmasters cannot.
The main issue, however, is not that I don’t feel like doing Master nightfalls for a subpar version of the gun. It’s that nobody does. Finding a group for Master Nightfalls is impossible because nobody wants to do them.
Then the question may be, why do I want the standard version of the gun?
I want to be able to purchase the gun with Vanguard engrams to get a god roll that is not adept. I may have a god roll Hung Jury and Buzzard (Adept), but Wendigo week kinda sucked, so I only ran 5 GMs and not a single Adept Wendigo had Spike Grenades. I also could not find a single person looking to run that Nightfall on Legend or Master whenever I checked the LFG on this app. I just never got a default Wendigo, and have nothing to spend my Vanguard Engrams on :(
Could this please be a thing?

7 RepliesI still don't really understand why you'd want this, sorry. If you can focus the adept, why would you want to focus the not adept?
