Make mobility worth investing into.

Its a dead stat that only increase walk speed, strafe speed, and increases the distance traveled[be it X or Y axis] of the first jump only[does not effect second or 3rd jump]. & decreases movement speed the higher your mobility for titans & warlocks. Making it increase it sprint speed would be the best option as this would benefit all 3 classes. Lets be honest its weird 2 of the classes gain movement bonuses for suppressing the stat, while the 3rd class only gains a class ability CD reduction for investing into the stat but no movement bonus. [i]Edit: For the 1millionth time, mobility currently does not increase your sprint speed.[/i]

  • I can feel a big difference between 100 mobility and 30. You're just tired of being last to the party. Someone has to be last.

      • Mobility should effect the strafe, jump, slide distance, speed of "smash" abilities and grapple movement, anything that involves movement should be affected by mobility. Max mobility you might be fragile but you should feel like you move like a leaf on the wind.

      • Don’t get greedy. Mobility decreases the cool-down of hunter class abilities, AND it costs only 1/3 mod slots instead of 2/4 mod slots.

          • THE PROBLEM IS that Titans can skate faster than sprinting. They have unlimited and a BETTER dodge with the melee ability, that in case of panic, can one hit kill from 10 meters away in a blink of an eye. They can have 100 resilience, with Max flinch resistence, AND 100 recovery WITH some nasty life and shields regen on TOP. They got It ALL, better than everyones else.

              • That is because everyone thinks they absolutely need 100 resil to do a GM , raid or any hard pve content. They even put it on for pvp. 🤣 I was in a GM yesterday with a hunter and a warlock , both had 100 resil and both died within the first 2min of the strike. I have done many GM's , gilded conquerer for the 6th time with only 18 resil. I rather invest in mobility , recovery and discipline or intellect instead of resil wich does not do anything cause you will still get one-shot. 🤣🤣🤣 I have seen that also multiple times in hard content , some guy with 100 resil gets one-shot.

                  I can totally understand why it would only increase your walk speed. Hunters is the only one that spec into Mobility. Seeing as how it decreases their class ability. Mobility decreases the cooldown of Hunters Dodge ability. Resilience decreases the cooldown of Titans Barricades. Recovery decreases the cooldown of Warlocks rifts. So if Mobility now gave sprint speed, Hunters would have an automatic advantage in pvp. If you play on any other classes, you would have to be forced to either grind for armor with high Mobility stats or put Mobility mods on their armor. Warlocks and Titans would now be forced to change their armor and reduce their other stats, just to be on the same page as the Hunters.

                  • Posted about this multiple times before, here was what I wrote. Proposed solutions: (non-preferred solution): Un-link class ability regen from stats altogether, this may solve this problem however this leads to some other issues. Namely this will likely require more balancing effort etc from bungie as well as meaning Hunters will have to re farm for all of their armour rolls (pain). (preferred solution): This solution I believe to be superior as it will be much less of a 'rock the boat' style change as it will only affect mobility. Rework it, I believe that if some 'space' is needed for a rework (eg the new capabilities plus the jump augmentation would be a bit much and convoluted) then the jump augmentation could be removed and all classes could be given their max jump height be default. Certainly a quality of life change for people who may not have high mobility armour for awkward jumps etc. And then it would free up mobility to take on a new form... … that form being (I have 2 ideas). (Not so great idea): An increase to your reload speed. I say this is a not so great idea as a lot of things especially on Hunter can greatly improve your reloads (on your mark / speed loader slacks). Unless this mobility buff ca stack with those then I don't think it would be overly handy. (Better idea): Add an evasive aspect to it. The top 3 main stats are all linked to survivability... well not mobility but it WILL BE ... I hope. Recovery and Resilience add greatly to survivability so I think mobility would work great as an evasive stat. The picture I have in my head is that perhaps while moving or even just while sprinting, enemies are less accurate when trying to shoot you. I don't know how hard this would be to implement but I think it would be a fantastic rework that fits within a Hunters power fantasy. These are just my thoughts though, thanks for reading, I'd love to hear some of your ideas too!

                    • I think they should make it so at 100 you get similar effects (maybe 80%) of the movement exotics for your sprint and slide distance.

                      How about At 100 mobility you decrease auto aim effectiveness against you by 40%, and also makes you harder to hit in PvE also

                          • I agree best use of mobility was if it straight increased strafe and sprint speed and jump height/distance scaling up with higher mobility stat.

                          • Or make rifts tied to int and barricade tied to str. That way hunters won't be the only class that cannot invest only in dis/rec/dis

                            • 2 things would happen if this change went into effect: 1) Titans and Warlocks would shrug and keep speccing into resil/recov, as for PvP, most titans and warlocks are used to fighting stompee hunters, AND have Transversives/Dunemarchers to cap sprint speed anyways. 2) it would kill stompees so they would need a rework.

                                  It increases your jump height, strafe speed, ADS strafe speed, and jump distance. It does plenty, far more than any other stat ⚡

                                  • I don't see how this would ever be a useful stat in PvE. But for the half-thought-out and slapped on PvP mode it could do something by making the game even less balanced.
