Promotion Series Matches Shouldnt Exist
Why do I need to win 2 of 3 arbitrary games if I have won enough games to get to that point? I haven't seen any other game do this with their ranked system for good reason. It should be removed or scaled down to 1 of 3 games, perhaps even just make it so your top of the leaderboard for 1 of 3 games. The Matchmaking also just ends up screwing me by giving me new players who have never touched the game mode and matching me against ascendents.

I got put into gold 3 after placement, second game after face a Playstation player obviously cheating with aimbot and walls, as last guardian standing on the final round I killed myself and lost points to put me into relegation games. Then proceeded to get put against God's for the first game and then matched them again for the second match. Both times I got -blam!- bots.

The whole of comp makes no sense, SBMM based on a hidden number with a nice visual of rank that in no way correlates to the difficulty at which you play at. Caps on elo gain/loss are a joke as well, if you’re a gold beating ascendents shouldn’t you gain thousands and they loose thousands of elo?

Yeah…. The notion of winning games being necessary AND allowing MM is stupid. Yes, astoundingly good players can carry a mediocre team all the way to the top. But “good” players can’t. If you’re stuck with yahoos, you shouldn’t be penalized even if your play is pretty darn good. If you’re truly evaluating skill, W/L are window dressing - not the main course.

Promotion is odd in video game seen it in sports not games like this. Think just need win x amount of games to climb ladder but it is Bungie so who knows what they are thinking 🤷🏻♂️

8 RepliesWhile we are talking about things that shouldn’t exist we need to throw commendations into the pile. Those have to be one of the dumbest additions to this game I’ve ever seen. Most times people leave before you can even hand them out or you give them and get none because you are grouped with petty, fragile narcissists that you outscored. So, either way, it just ends up being a gigantic waste of time almost always.
