Crucible needs to be taken out of free to play
Take crucible out of free to play and restrict it to anyone that owns all DLC past and present only. That will get rid of 90% of the cheaters.

I'd take it a step further and get rid of free to play altogether.

Edited by postal268: 5/18/2023 7:46:38 AMThey do this with Trials already, you have to have lightfall to play Trials. You can't expect a new player to drop like $400 just to play PvP. Honestly Destiny would do better to just ditch the DLC business model and go with a subscription model. That would allow new players to get in without being overwhelmed while keeping the cost to keep playing about the same for existing players. I mean if you buy the latest expansion and the 4 seasons pack for $100 you're already paying a little over $8 a month basically to play for the year, so it wouldn't change all that much pricewise for continuing players. Then bungie wouldn't just be focused only on making new content to sell and could focus on what would keep the players happy enough to keep coming back.

This is why I still kinda enjoyed PvP back in D1. There was a paywall to actually play the content that is this game itself and what ever DLC to play more PvE. I totally agree that all they need to do is get rid of it in the F2P part and man oh man will we see a drop in cheaters, I can feel it.

They should add a cheaters pool: once you get caught cheating you only match against others who are cheating. If they can’t fully fix cheaters in their game maybe make them only match against others who are doing the same while keeping them out of the general population of the game who actually play legitimately

But then your going to alienate the people who want to play the game without dlc. I remember that feeling in D1 and it wasn’t fun. That would be a horrible idea, especially for getting new players. They already do it in trials which is fine, but let’s keep that in trials

9 RepliesSorry not sorry but this game's PvP is an unbalanced mess from head to toe. It's complete trash compared to other shooters in the market. Getting rid of the small amount of players that cheat will not do much to fix the fundamental issues in this game mode.

It would, yes. But the playerbase already is problematicly low, doing that will make queue times rise beyond acceptable. SBMM already doesn't work with the tiny player pool. Imagine only paying players being able to play. Queues will take 20 minutes for QUICKplay.

1 ReplyYes, remove 90% of players will solve 90% of cheaters, so you need to pay for that 90% lost of profit from bungie which is around $500 for a forever matching pvp experience. I think everyone is ok for that as when there someone complaining the price, they will just ask you grow up and find a job. Go on, i am looking for this genius opinion work.

Something needs to happen, 3 games now I’ve had 2 team mates against a 6 man team for over 7 minutes... I’d love to know what’s going on with pvp and new players just quitting as soon as they stub their toe in crucible.
