I don’t really enjoy playing the same single strike over and over again. I find it really boring and a huge turn off. I want to switch from one activity to another. But for Guardian Games I’m not allowed to do that. I can only work on one card at a time. Why do you guys make these decisions? What is the point of holding me back from switching it up so I don’t bore myself? Why do you keep choosing things like this that make no sense to me as a player?
-
Omg YES. I have to run this godforsaken playlist OVER and OVER for the title and I’m losing my mind. These strikes should rotate! Who at Bungie thought it would be fun for people to do the same activity over and over??
-
10 RepliesYou know there are platinum cards for pve beside NF right?
-
Yeah stupid. Why didn’t you make a bespoke game just for Gastropod?
-
Usually takes two nightfalls to complete a platinum Games cards.
-
So streamers have something to do and grind
-
I am so bored with them that I cannot complete 3 per week per character for b dust. Previously at least you could storm through them like nothing, now they're a slog...
-
Its a good way to get up to five engrams to turn in for a nightfall weapon that you may not have already, or you can focus multiple of a weapon you already have for more rolls of the same weapon.
-
4 RepliesI and many players didn't even do guardian games this year. Take a break. It is an end of the season activity anyway. Never intended to be taken seriously. The scout rifle is decent at best even with hatchling. Destiny 2 content does not have enough scout rifle action to warrant such a farm.

Because Bungie is lazy and will choose the easiest thing to develop which makes you go into Activities you hate just to pull numbers from you. So they then can go to their Shareholders meeting and Say...."gastrprobz played this amount of time, or played this activity. So you see, our players love playing the game".

1 ReplyNot being able to hold all the bounties at once was a very poor decision, forcing us to run the same strike over and over was even dumber. But they topped both those with rotating last week's nightfall into this week's competitive nightfall. I am sick of Arms Dealer!

Doesnt higher difficulty grant more progress?

Edited by Zinjo 2017: 5/15/2023 11:20:33 PMWell this year they added a new twist over last year. A Competitive Strike = Hero Level Nightfall. With CS, unlike a vanilla Nightfall, you get a chance at exotic armor when completing a Competitive Strike, Nightfalls do not offer that, only the chance at the Nightfall weapon of the week and enhancement cores (which you also get from the Competitive Strike). Also the competitive strike (if you use the right subclass) counts toward the Strike's weekly pinnacle (if you have not reached 1810 yet). Each medal you earn gives you one of the two GG weapons offered this year. So there are multiple incentives to run these. Choose your poison, but I'd suggest running the Competitive Strikes for a chance at an exotic armor piece.

3 Repliesplays an MMO where grinding the same thing is cornerstone of the experience and then complains about having to do things over.... Maybe Destiny is not even close to a game you should be playing then.
-
3 RepliesGuardian Games, Festival of the lost, The Dawning, Solstice... all of that is essentially filler content. There is nothing special about it in any way. These come around once a year, the least they could do is ad some substance to it. (Have players vote on Strikes, and Activities). Seeing that mosr of it is recycled, they can use those assets they have and add some features. Guardian Games = SRL would have been a great addition to playlist. Festival of the Lost = I enjoyed the Haunted Forest and hunting for the secret chests. Titan is coming Back, a Haunted Archology would be great The Dawning = not much to add here, as I generally skip this whole event, baking cookies... Solstice = I would LOVE for Heroic versions of old Story Missions leading up to the current narrative to come back.

At least you can get a platinum card done on each run, easy peasy.
-
5 RepliesSame thing for NF rotation. 6 GMs, for one season, that’s it. Couldn’t we just do any one we want when we want and not have to wait until next, or after next season to do one I’ve done less often?
-
1 ReplyDo you really want the chance to load into a Battleground?
-
My personal opinion, I would rather run these NFs (AD and GW) than playlist strikes anyday. These events are designed for you (not necessarily the most hardest of hardcores) to stockpile materials and get a chance at good rolled weapons. These events have always been focused to allow the more casual players a chance at material grinding and fun weapons. This doesn't translate to fun for a lot of the hard-core crowd but it's an opportunity. For me, averaging 3 prisms every 15-20 minutes on easy mode NF makes it worth it. Not to mention the 1000s of bd accumulated.... If anyone needs an easy platinum cheese, platinum Neomuna card (plus repeatables for bright dust), load into Breakneck on Legend. Get to the first cp/flag, From there kill everything but Wyvern, then die, rinse and repeat. About 2.5 failed runs equals card.

Lengthened time of playing.
-
1 Reply"Look at the players fulfilling the ridiculous requirements we set, play time is up, we must be doing something right!" - Bungie
-
One of the reasons I stopped playing the grind when the increased everything. 5 strikes instead of 3, multiple nightfalls, etc.
-
Because it’s a recycled event with no thought or creativity. It’s been the same boring event for years.

Edited by Howiepenguin: 5/15/2023 1:17:14 PM"Increase player engagement with the game and it's locations" - Bungie(prolly) Essentially an arbitrary way to make players play the game more to complete the event. If players could grab all the cards Eva had to offer in one go they would complete the event card in a few hours instead of the three week event that they make it out to be.(though I know there are outliers completing and gilding the event before the first day ends even with these current implementations) Not defending Bungie, but trying to give some introspective into this game since to Bungie it is still a product they need to sell. I hate it too and it kills my want to play the game.

Unless you are still grinding pinnacles then there is no point. I just suro chi the platinum bounties, takes half the time if you get over 100 kills per run.
-
Because they dont need to make any real content, its just menus and bounties and vendors but the same strikes and destinations. Its a smart decision when you think about it, selling us the same -blam!- but pretending its a diff event. You cant really take part fully to unless you buy in for 1k silver.
