Avalon Legendary TOO Difficult for Flawless Triumph

I feel like I’m never going to get this flawless triumph completed. This exotic mission on legendary difficulty is just way over the top. I’ve tried so many different builds. It’s just not working. I’m not improving. I’m feeling very defeated. Can’t go in with a Fireteam because it just gets even more difficult. What percentage of the community even has this triumph completed already?!?! I want to know!

I’ve completed this Triumph. Ran a Well-Lock with Healing grenades and Healing Rift to maximize, um, healing… I generally used a scout with Kinetic Tremors for long range damage potential without having to worry about ammo and the Chain of Command LMG to help replenish my Grenade energy for more healing. Despite some who say it is useless in this activity, I used Vexcalibur to great effect from the beginning of the activity to right before the final boss fight. I coupled Vex with Necrotic Grips for most of the activity to help keep add numbers down. During the mid-point encounter against the Data Nullifier I altered my strategy to switch between Exotic gloves depending on the phase: • During the mote collection phases I used Karnstein Armlets to supplement my healing from other sources and the OverShield granted by Vexcalibur. Once the motes were deposited I would hug the wall in the pit and deploy a healing rift or healing grenade if possible, using my Chain of Command to knock the approaching Wyverns off balance long enough to survive their onslaught. • Right after being teleported to the mid-boss damage phase I swapped back to Necrotic Grips to help keep the number of adds in check while also providing a nice source of Super energy after slamming down my Well of Radiance. After the Well faded I ran for cover and played super defensively, focusing mainly on add control and only occasionally peaking out to activate Kinetic Tremors against the boss for damage until I regained super energy for another Well. I would then swap back to Karnstein’s for the start of the second mote phase. For the final boss encounter I swapped out Vexcalibur for Null Exposure and my Chain of Command for the Deterministic Chaos Exotic LMG (although Thunderlord or Heir Apparent would have been strong choices as well if I wanted to focus more toward damage output or defensive capabilities, respectively). I made heavy use of cover during the three boss phases, greatly limiting the angles from which I could be attacked, using any available healing to improve my survivability when being forced to move to a new source of cover. This highly defensive strategy meant that the boss fight took substantially longer than it otherwise would have, so I made sure not to grow complacent or allow myself to be distracted by routinely reminding myself what I had to do next and where enemies could still come after me. And of course, I made several attempts (generally one attempt per day) until I finally got through Flawlessly. I’m sure an internet search will direct you to YouTube videos of Flawless playthroughs by players of all three classes with much stronger builds than I used which may better suit your play style. Find a build and strategy that makes sense to you and keep working at it. And don’t feel bad that you are finding this Triumph difficult to complete because it is in fact difficult to complete. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
