Has anyone ever gotten an email from Bungie offering them 1500 silver if they took a survey? Because I just did and I’m wondering if it’s legitimate or not.

Received a mail like this yesterday, but offering a "15$ gift card of your choice" (in German). So is it just about Silver after all? That German version of mine didn't imply that. Couldn't complete it either because being honest about my employment state…

1 ReplyThis is something they do on occasion but if you feel uncomfortable for any reason then don’t do it. If you feel fairly confident, you should still exercise caution: • Compare the email address of the sender to those of official Bungie advertisements. Be cognizant of the fact that spoof email accounts will try to emulate confirmed accounts with subtle letter/number substitutions when possible • Always be wary of any links provided in unsolicited emails. Be sure to scrutinize any URLs you are provided in such an email by copying the link from the email (without clicking through) and pasting it to a text file so you can compare it to the address of the official Bungie website. • Run a quick internet search for “Bungie free Silver scam” including the email address of the sender and the URL provided in the email. Plenty of websites exist to collect warnings of potential scams. Compare the results listed on multiple websites to get a broad sense of whether the email is legitimate. • Before clicking through on any links make sure you have two-factor authentication enabled on your platform’s account (and if it isn’t active already, for any online account that has access to your financial information) as this will make it that much more difficult and time consuming for a bad actor to gain access to your account should they get ahold of your login information. • Should you feel absolutely confident that it is a legitimate email and wish to follow through, don’t abandon your internet security best practices just yet. Instead of clicking through on the provided URL and then logging in, open your web browser and log into the Bungie official site separately. Once logged in you should then open the link by copy/pasting it into your browser; if it brings you to the official Bungie website with your account already being logged in then you should be good to go. If it instead asks you to sign in, pump the brakes and reconsider before proceeding. Regardless of what decision you make here, pay heed to the account security advice given on Bungie’s official website:
Bungie.net Profile Security Bungie.net accounts rely on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Stadia, Steam, and Epic Games credentials. To ensure account security, please see the following recommendations: • Do not share account details with anyone. Bungie employees will NEVER ask for this information. • Use a different password and account security questions for each credential. • Ensure that any E-mail account tied to these credentials uses an alternate password as well. • Update passwords frequently.
(΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
