I’m super glad that Raiju’s is getting a little love in the buffs department, but both Blight Ranger and Raiju’s are still never going to see general play because of how hyper specific they are in PvE.
No matter what you do to buff about reflecting with your Staff in PvE, it’s still going to be seen as incredibly underpowered because of how it inhibits the use of your super ability without giving you any other benefits. Like, when Ward of Dawn, Well of Radiance, and even Banner Shield give you big benefits to you and your team for sacrificing a damage Super, what’s the point with just reflecting damage?
Even if Blight Ranger does increase reflect damage, it’s still always more effective to hit things with your Staff and the new Raiju’s change is designed around not using your Super now. I’d like to wait and see how potent (and how large) the blinding explosion will be, but when we have easier access to blinding effects like Flashbang Grenades and Spark of Beacons, what is the point of burning a Super just to Blind something?
If I could do anything to buff these Exotics, I would give them better neutral effects, give them unique functionality with Gathering Storm (which hasn’t gotten an Exotic yet), or literally just deleting one of the Exotics and combining both effects together.
Hell, let’s just cut the middle man entirely and buff reflecting with Arc Staff itself! We could even make it so that reflecting with an Arc Staff gives a benefit to your team like Banner Shield does so that these two could be more viable in group settings.
One quick idea I had is giving everyone standing near a reflecting Arc Staff Hunter gives them a special version of the Juggernaut frontal shield that Striker Titans have, but then a unique functionality that I would give those shields is reflecting damage, but only from the front. That way it could be a very good support Super in certain group activities where Tether might not be as viable to use.
In short, we can do much better about buffing Raiju’s than just a blinding explosion and we can certainly make Exotics like this better without hampering them in all use cases. I personally think the better way to go at this point is just to buff reflecting with the Staff itself, but what do you think?

It's a pretty big nerf actually. With the old raiju's I could outlast a warlock Stormtrance and still have a bit of energy to finish him. It was a very good buff to the duration of the super. Now I can't even go through the room and still have my super. Yes the blight ranger is great, but in PVE. In PVP every smart player will stop shooting at ypu when he sees you guarding (+some of the supers can to effordlessly kill you after the 3.0 rework). I would also like to addres the amount of "misadventure" deaths I get when gurading. Back to Raijus, the blind explsion isn't good enough to cover the old perk.

Raiju isn't getting buffed, it's actually a pretty significant nerf.

5 RepliesEdited by SaintX: 5/10/2023 11:09:05 PMArc staff an the new arc super should of been one super, staff to block dmg, push super buttons again to throw the staff ending your super the longer you block dmg for yourself or teammates the more dmg it would do when you throw it, obviously it caps out at a point but this would of given all the hunter arc exotics a legit function in both pve an pvp, an made arc staff usable again. Outside of noobs figuring it out arc staff has no function in game that the other supers can't do 10000% better.

4 RepliesRaijus doubles your super duration… Blight ranger has its niche use of generating an absurd amount of orbs. Could use a small buff/change.
-
I use raiju’s now and then but I barely play arcstrider anymore to be honest.

2 RepliesStill waiting fir a burning maul exotic. Or hammer exotic. Something. . .

Raiden flux is my go to arcstrider exotic for GMs. I dont see how it can be topped. Blight Ranger however is a very fun support super imo. Giving your teammates two full supers is pretty sweet for making the orb factory going.
-
Blight ranger can give your allies 2 supers for using your 1 super... Its VERY good already. 3 supers if your allies use star eaters. So you using your decent super can give your damage super allies multiple supers.

It's still meh to me if anything they should have turned it into a "gathering storm" exotic which i don't know why they didn't You can literally have a exotic turn it into a support super like rift or bubble *Longer duration * Standing in gathering storm grants amplified to you and allies with increase arc weapon damage Doesn't stack with well or radiance

1 ReplyHonestly I found the Raiju’s “buff” to be more of a nerf. It was changed because it’s a menace in PVP, but the damage buff is probably not gonna be a lot and that blinding explosion is accessible in other ways besides wasting my super’s damage time. Blight Ranger should at least have the ability where the more damage you block or deal back at an enemy grants some energy back. I used Raiju’s as a fun niche exotic in PVE to replace a Ward Titan but now that it’s no longer a decent defensive use exotic Blight Rangers will have to do. Very nitpicky but I agree that those two were hardly used as is, and still don’t think the change will help it at all.

4 Replies"Buffs"? Lol The only buff on that list is for Oathkeepers, that's it. Everything else is pretty much nerfed or on the same lvl, just different.
-
Blight ranger: reflecting attacks deal 3000% the damage back to the enemies.

5 RepliesI had to Google what those exotics were and I'm a Hunter main. Like seriously, you could make those two exotics the best exotics in the game and they'd still see no use because of how useless Arc Strider feels. Unless your a dad running Vows I've never seen anyone use it in PvP, and if you're trying to do endgame PvE you're a bigger detriment to the team then the thing you're shooting.
