Why are people complaining about this?
It’s just a number above your head to show what you’ve accomplished in game. That’s it. You’re not missing out on anything.

2 RepliesBecause people were under a false pretense of where they really stood in the community and GR sat them down. You actually have people complaining that the exotic and title requirements are too much. When I reality they are actually pretty lite. 50k + players are rank 11 lol it’s not some rarified air. It’s an auto complete for any endgame vets

2 RepliesWhat I’ve learned is that players are so attached to their in game identity they feel like the number is part of that identity. They then feel like that number being low makes them feel bad. It’s the strangest thing.

Who knows...means nothing. I did it until I didn't want to. Stopped at 10 because I didn't feel like slogging through spire solo. It's all I need but I'm not bothering.

I have experienced this, because I refuse to jump on the Bungie elitist bullshit, yet my stats show I have accomplished nearly everything in the game at some point, Bungie, yet again, preventing progress unless you do what they tell you to do, and how you should do it .. Their way or the highway .. I love this game, always have, but Bungie, no love for them whatsoever, Bungie have become a greedy, dictatorial, elitist company, they once truly cared about the gamer and the community, not anymore, their ONLY concern is their bank balance ...

Not having access to them because I refuse to play the game the way Bungie thinks I should is idiotic. . Guardian Ranks are a paywall more than anything. But let's not act like they're a skill check. I've seen multiple "Gilded Conqueror" rank 6's this season. I've multiple "Dream Warriors" chilling at rank 6 as well. . The idea that it's just a flex to have a higher number is bogus though. Extra loadouts is important.

I was convinced I was a forever 8 at the beginning of this season till I said f it and just did garden,wish,vow then master Ron all in the same week now I wish I had another goal. I guess adept buzzard then time to play another game

Same. It encompasses everything wrong with the bizarre entitlement people get off of this game. Pretty sure I can claim rank 9 right now but I don’t really care enough to actually do it.

8 Repliespersonally i could care less but i have a clanmate that was denied a slot in a fireteam because they were only rank 6 (only because they hadn't played in a few months). so there's that.

Only thing that bugs me about GR is that from 8-9 you need 85 exotic weapons. I have 60 cause I took a break from forsaken to witch queen. Haven’t even done GoS or DSC raid or pit of heresy dungeon because I’ll never get another 25 exotic weapons because the ones I don’t have I don’t care to get. So forever rank 8 I guess lol
