2 RepliesI'd say its a 7 out of 10. It could of fit better IF there was a actual barrier hiding neomuna and cutting it off from the rest of humanity and the solar system.. like the awoken's distributary. Maybe its some golden age tech cloaking the city? Or it's phased out of our reality, perhaps savathun hid it away etc... That would allow neomuna and it's lack of traces to be explained away easely... But as it is? Kinda feels like that season of Buffy the vampire slayer where her sister dawn just pops outta knowhere after 5 or so seasons of not existing at all. It just jars me tbh

1 ReplyI give it a 0.000001 Mithrax, Drifter, and me found these ancient Nezarec bones in jars. Mithrax turned Nezzy into tea that he gave to the homeless-sleepy-birdman, whom wakes up and gets Savvies memories pulled out from nowhere and is all like "go to Neptune, big scary is there." Oh yeah, without any emotional buildup or anything birdman is now in love with robot-birdman, retconning previous lore regarding being brothers or like brothers. After these events unfolded we now get Neomuna, something we already knew about in Bungie leaks and datamining well before the end of the stupid pirate stuff. Witch Queen had a long fun and interesting campaign. Lightfall is just Beyond Light meets new teenager but its set in the 1980s via hottub time machine, but with less interesting things than Shadowkeep.

Edited by Rip Van Winkle: 5/4/2023 8:35:36 PM0 this entire series has been about the remnants of a ruined civilization, and then there's this utopian paradise that's just been vibing the entire time. it just doesn't fit the setting

7 RepliesI'd say a 6-7. Since it was hinted at on witch queen, and we had the lore of spire to back it up, it fits quite nicely. That, and the explanation that they cant see inside neptune and when they visited us, they only found warlords, explaining why they never showed up before, makes sense. Now, if we knew a bit more about the veil and the cloudarc...

While the concept of Neomuna has been around since the beginning, the implementation is crap. I give it a 4 out of 10.

2 RepliesIMO a 3. The Jovians were an idea since pre-Destiny, and this basically fulfills the idea of a hidden human descendant civilization beyond the Reef. But Calus being killed off early compared to the other baddies that are around, deciding to split the biggest moment in Destiny into 2 cutscenes and putting a campaign in the middle, and the cringe of the last CloudStrider not being a super cool high-tech dude but a comic relief character in the most serious moment in Destiny history, yeah it’s hard not to almost give it a 2 or 1.

1 Reply0. Nothing fits. Literally nothing.
