Why does this thing still exist in game? It serves pretty much no PvE purpose and only represents a skill-less gimmick to get player kills without having to work for them.
The absurd tracking and the near infinite range of this thing especially coupled with hacking tools like Cronus/Xim makes it the go-to weapon for cheaters/griefers who love using it to ruin other player’s experiences. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve been one shot by this ridiculous gimmick even when I saw it coming from across the map and was actively attempting to dodge to no avail.
I don’t like sniper rifles much either, but at least that actually requires careful targeting and you can still fight it. By comparison, a Jotun user can just jump in the air, quickly hover over someone and get a kill with a modicum of effort.
It’s just lazy and in my personal opinion doesn’t belong in something that’s supposed to be about skill-based play. If the developers don’t want to get rid of it outright, they should at the very least retool it to have a damage drop off the further away it’s used so it can’t be abused to get lazy one-shots from across the map.
It’s not a rocket launcher and it shouldn’t behave like one.

2 RepliesAllow me to introduce you to... the ONE trick that Jotuun users HATE... They don't want you to know it exists.... They wish to keep this secret counter hidden so they can continue to reign over people like you... It's the left joystick, or conversely, the "a" and "d" keys.
-
2 RepliesI'll tell you right now. If people used the Jotunn the proper way it would be 10000x worse. Le monarch paired with 1 subclass is so much more toxic but I've only seen 4 people play with it including myself and I couldn't look at myself in the mirror. I deleted the weapon and didn't come back to the class until this season. My point is if you eliminate the jotunn the power vacuum of youtubers and redditors would just give rise to another new meta. Did you even do time in crucible with the Thorn and TLW 100 meta?

Why's it always the pvp crybabies..
-
Pvp players always complaining about what got them killed.
-
5 RepliesIf you remove jottun, then crybabies like yourself would not grace us with your petty tantrums.
-
Removing guns from a FPS is the most stupidest idea ever
-
Jump, strafe or duck behind cover. Jotuun won’t kill you since it has poor tracking
-
"The absurd tracking" that literally allows you to avoid it by simply side walking.
-
or you can just stop camp and start strafe/slide more
-
Or u can strafe I know that’s a hard concept but with practice and determination anything is possible

I like using it in pve.

Get better if you can't dodge that stop using a shotgun
-
That’s such an L take.
-
That's hilarious, I know that anytime I enter a game with someone using jotun, it will be an easy game. There's a reason you don't see jotun in high level gameplay, because it's awful
-
Theres this neat little trick you can do called using your ears to hear Jotunn charging. Then simply bait it and duck for cover. Easy.
-
Here's a clue..duck!
-
1 ReplyEvery now and then a post complaining about Jotunn tracking pops up. I’m convinced this is caused by lag (similar to getting shot after ducking behind cover) players dodging, but somehow still getting hit. I’ve had it happen to me a couple of times. Jotunn is easy to dodge in normal play, especially from across the map. My advice is to embrace the space magic! That includes all the crazy weapons and abilities.

What benefit would cronus/xim give to Jotuun?
-
Just don't use it if you don't like it...
-
I am a low skilled PvP player which means I play against other low skilled players due to SBMM. I rarely get killed by Jotunn or even see people using it so it must only be prevalent in games with high skilled players.

“Strafe”
