Most of the players are 6 or 7.
Then nothing.
Then the 10s and 11s sprinkled in between.
This shows that the game, content and development costs are targeted at a miniscule percentage of players. That there is nothing to strive for for the majority of players and payers of this game.
Bungie should rethink this approach.

5 Replies7 is where the raid rquirements start. That is a no go for me. I have done dozens of GMs and all kinds of solo stuff, but raids don't interest me. Not doing them, period. Obviously, many other people won't either.

When I achieve rank 10, then I'll update my CV and watch all the six figure salary jobs roll in from the best executive recruitment firms around the country. Until then, my rank 7 Guardian will have to be happy with their minimum wage job and '96 Honda civic

I know I don't go for it because it's not permanent. Imho, it should've been harder to rank up, but rank ups should be permanent. We're talking like flawless raids, low-guardian raids, solo flawless multiple dungeons (like 3), solow flawless like 5-10 DIFFERENT lost sectors. Gilding conqueror 2-3 times. Going flawless in trials at least once. For the lower levels, something like a 5 win crucible streak, finishing all the active campaigns, filling out a specific % of your exotic inventory or just your collections in general. Make it a progression from complete noobie to D2 god. Having it be a recurring thing was stupid. Not everything needs to be a grind.

I don’t believe this is true. Plus, no one really cares about what rank people are. At least I don’t. You can achieve higher ranks if you choose to put in the work. If you play all content in the game, even raids, you can do it. I would encourage you to find a clan that Sherpa’s other players in end-game content.

My problem is I’ll be forever 7 as I am mostly solo. Yes, that’s on me. But I’m sick and tired of making friends just for them to bail out of the game 3-4weeks into every season.
-
I just play the parts of the game I enjoy. Not what Bungie would like me to do to achieve a rank that has little personal meaning for me.
-
I refuse to care about a random number that doesn't affect my game in any way If I happen to level up, it was by accident
-
I'll be 6 for another few seasons because I tend to do the year's campaign very slowly. Maybe 1 or 2 missions a month if that. I'm unmotivated in regard to expansion campaigns.

2 RepliesOver 40k players are rank 11. Is it causal in its own rite
-
I see so many rank 8s and 9s you’re personal experience doesn’t mean it’s the general consensus, I do see more than a few 6-7s but because it requires raid clears and dungeons, not everyone has dungeon keys or even cares enough to get their ranks.
-
People actively trying to raise their rank proves the player base is the kind that needs it.
-
5 RepliesGuardian rank means nothing......
-
I gave careless about the ranks. Reach 7 and don’t care if i reach more. I play what i want and how i want and there is nobody saying “wow you reached level 11. You did i great job. “. People don’t give a -blam!- about that. I’m no hater and the game is fine as it is. As a veteran i don’t have to be a tryhard and prove nothing to nobody. A play for fun.
-
Seems fine to me.
-
Seems like an accurate reflection of the player base to me... A bunch of casuals who don't or can't, and a smattering of players who do and can. The amount of people that get trapped between those two states is naturally going to be lower.
-
2 RepliesPlay Bungie's way or stay at 7. No rank up for lost sector, master, solo flawless so it's not about doing hard content it's about forcing players into clans and doing raids, like the streamers do. I just got to 1830 and that means . . . nothing.
-
I don't know what you mean I started on 7 and hand all the ranks till I got to 11
-
I’ll probably never get higher than 7 because all I really like doing is pvp and mostly 3’s. I’ve done the dungeons, raids, and GM’s before but I’ve just gotten bored with them. If they’d put this system in a couple years ago, I’d be 11 as quick as possible, but not I can’t be bothered lol
-
7 RepliesI’m rank 8 bottlenecked by 20 exotic weapons (which I could get down to 10-15 if I did quests) to go to level 9, I haven’t done 4 of the raids but I could do them at any point between now and getting my 85th exotic weapon so I’m not in any rush lol

Edited by Boss_KADA: 4/29/2023 6:01:19 AMI wouldn’t think much of it until I saw some rank “preferences” in high end LFG. Personally I can get to rank 9 with a master nf score buuuut meh Edit: And now rank 9 hurtles time

7 RepliesEdited by Ängry: 4/28/2023 12:21:37 PMThere is plenty to strife for for thoose players. They just choose to exclude themselves by not finding raid and dungeon groups. Furthermore ranks give no benefit in any way, so i dont understand why 6s and 7s are complaining. I would like more pvp focused requirements though.
