Day ??? of wondering why you lose points if a teammate rage quits
Title. I should not lose over 100 points if a teammate rage quits lol. Also, why do I only get 5 points if I carry the team??
EDIT: I will no longer be responding to comments because y’all keep saying the same thing without reading my responses. The competitive system is horribly flawed and needs to be fixed, and that is a hill I will die on lol.

If only they could implement something like Overwatch’s system. Where if a player left in a certain amount of time, the match is cancelled

Hmm that’s never happened to me … the points aren’t given or taken away until the game is over Not sure how that is happening to you … never heard of that bug

Because if a player could leave mid match, and then you receive no loss of points, it would be abused.

If they did that then players would start messaging other players to try and make them quit when they are losing. Team mates would rotate who quits so they don’t lose etc etc I wonder why everyone who complains about this all the time doesn’t just look at themselves and see what they can change - maybe LFG? But I guess that’s just a comment on their character. Easier to blame others rather than fix things they can change.

If you leave -100 and instant time out. If you’re the last player in a team and you lose you get -5 but if you win you get +100

How about if you leave -200, if you are left as the last player on the team -0? Could be exploited yes but would be more fair in solo or duo.

2 RepliesIt's unfortunate that it works that way, but protecting rank points if a teammate leaves would be [i]really[/i] easy to exploit. You would be able to effectively cherry-pick your opponents and only play matches that you are going to win.

Yup, I’ve played the same team twice and lost 40 points in the first game while still performing well and then playing them again for the win on the second game, scoring the highest and only receiving +5. Bungie believes that they need some ridiculously complicated algorithm for comp point distribution... This isn’t an esport level game. It should be so much simpler and it would fine.

3 RepliesIt's an unwinnable problem. If you lose points for a teammate leaving, that sucks. But if you make it to where you won't lose points if a teammate leaves, you'll have teams quitting matches they don't want to play to avoid losing rank and basically cheesing the system.

Tbh if a teammate rage quits and you guys still win you should get even more points than you would winning with a three stack

If you did not lose point, people would abuse the system by having 1 player rage quit in a losing game. Just saying. Not that competitive or competitive score means anything in a PvP that requires 0 skill.

They don't care. They have no clue of how a Competitive ranked system should work. Remember when trials of the nine was taken away to bring trials of Osiris back, they didn't want to bring it half-baked and it came out raw... Right now I m getting 2 wins for every loss and don't go up. Lost 50 points from a draw because teammates never used their supers, got only 5 points for a win where I had 8kd when everyone else had below 2. The game has a ton of issues, stealth nerfs, oh sorry they forgot to include them in the patch notes. They truly don't care and they use the bare minimum number of people on this game. It shows from what they have been doing.

Yes, gotta love it when you lose the first round then they quit but you end up winning anyways, or it goes the other way and you get gutter stomped 🤦🏼
