I have no interest in giving this game anymore negativity. People through social media are screaming out for Destiny 3. The devs need to realise that it's time to move forward with the franchise, regardless as they've hurt their reputation through self infliction. This franchise needs everything new gen and NOW!

I wouldn't buy Destiny 3. I don't want to live with Bungie's failure through another game. I already lost so much money here.
-
It's time for Bungie to just move on from video games period and pander to politics.. It's what they'd rather do anyway.

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
Destiny is in its final stretch , just like with Halo Bungie is moving on to bigger and better things , D3 is not even on the table has an idea I am playing the final shape campaign, and hanging up my guardians boots for good -
2 RepliesThe game is fine, it's the people here who are not. Get rid of this forum. Time has not been kind to the humanity or intellect of the people here. Get rid of all of us.

3 RepliesBy far the dumbest thread I've ever read. Absolutely nothing would change about the game if they moved it to a new game. This game needs drastic improvements in their vision for the franchise before they can think of moving onto a new title.
-
This game is in the bogs.
-
Probably not going to happen for 3-5 years, so people should probably just move on for a bit.
-
2 RepliesThey'll just produce another load of utter shite and charge you $100 for it
-
7 RepliesAnyone who would move to a D3 thinking anything would change is a fool.
-
4 RepliesWhat is Destiny 3 going to resolve? We will still have the awful leadership and unqualified developers.
-
5 RepliesAnd you honestly believe anyone would buy Destiny a third time????? Regrind the how maniest time everything? Certainly not me!
-
2 RepliesIt's time to pack it in. Do you really think, based on what we're getting now, that another version will be any better?
-
No, it's time to hand the IP to another developer if anything. This is the best this business will offer. They have nothing left in them to motivate them, and if a D3 happened, it would all be recycled content from D1/D2 but called D3 with everyone going through the exact same process for the next how many years as you are now. Trust me, you don't want a D3 from this business.

A new number behind the name will not change anything meaningful. Yes, the engine will probably have less bugs and the game will look better. Maybe even a better netcode. A Destiny 3 would NOT change the lazy, uninspired, entitled, money hungry company tho. These devs would not change. The higher ups would not change. These clowns are in charge right now. What makes you think that a "3" at the end of the game would make them actually provide fun and quality content, less tedious grinds, respecting players time, fomo, terrible and cringe stories, dull gameplay loop, zero focus on the core game, instead reissued seasonal content all the time, unbalanced ability spam metas for years, zero clue about pvp etc. etc. Unless the tiny tiny chance occured that Bungie sells the rights to Destiny to a competent and passionate dev, no 3 or 4 or 5 at the end of "Destiny" will make the game any better. It's Bungie we are talking about at the end of the day.

With all the bugs in d2 they should have kept d1 going

Good old bungo, sitting around a huge mound of cash, supping Bud Light, having a great laugh!!!

It's not that they need new gen. It's that they have had years to capitalize on the mystery and intrigue started in D1. Then instead took a gamble on the casual audience at D2 launch while removing most of their forward progress. Then took years to fix that mess, only to start pumping out mediocre season after season once mostly back on track. Players kept buying them, and the quality kept tanking. Now, they have made it clear through actions that nothing will be getting better. A lot of players have held on with the hope this game could be what they have always dreamed. That's the story of this game, its potential, and never getting there. I'm playing less and less, and spending no more money. They've squandered this game and clearly don't care.

"See that engine over there? We can work in it." The reality is, even if everything was smooth, Blackburn is awful. The writing and the way the writing has been implemented is also awful. The loot is also... awful for the time invested. If this team makes Destiny 3, it's going to be just as bad if not worse.
-
Couldn’t agree with you more! ITS TIMEE FOR NEW GEN
-
They honestly need Destiny 3. D2 is running off of the same Halo XB 360 code as D1 and it’s starting to crumble (as we can all see). They need to update the entire code and in order to do that they just need to make a brand new game
-
They could not get it right after 9 years and two attempts. What makes you think another go around will be any different? Just accept this and stop hoping for something that you'll never get.
-
Story is one dlc from being over, would make zero sense to do this.
-
No. It's time to move on from this game. Bungie massacred Destiny.

1 ReplyEdited by COMBATICUS: 4/25/2023 3:06:07 PMWhy would we need D3 if they can't even make D2 playable ? They just gonna take d2 with all the issues and add the name D3 to it. They need a new engine. They need better story, separate pvp balances(and no, what they are doing now isn't enough separation) , dedicated servers, better cheat/hack detection. List goes on. I mean they can't even give us some of that on D2 and you asking for D3 lol, yea just throw more money at them
-
Feature and system wise, Year 5 was essentially Destiny 3. But I understand what people really want is a engine clean slate because of various spaghetti code issues. You guys should know a 'commercial' Destiny 3 would still like use the current engine, unless you're all prepared for nothing but battle pass updates for 2-3yrs waiting on D3.

2 RepliesLmao if u think people will buy it after this horrible major dlc yea u dreaming
