Competitive Rank bonuses
I'm not quite sure what is going on but the competitive rank playlist is making me go insane. I'm currently in Adept 2, last night I went on a pretty big streak, and constantly was getting +50, +100, +160 rank, then when I'm 100 away from Adept 1, the very next match I win gives me only +5, after being on a streak. We played against other Adepts. The very next game I get stuck with a team of a silver and an uncontentested, we lose, and then I go down 200 points. Like why? What is determining how many points I go up or down? It honestly feels like the easier the match the more points I get. I don't understand why I am expected to carry 2 people way below my skill division against people in the same division.

4 RepliesThere is no streak bonus. The points we gain/lose per match is almost solely based on which team is supposed to win (very similarly to how elo works). I farmed comp yesterday to go from adept 3 to ascendant 2 and all of my wins except 2 granted +200. I’m not sure if bungie fixed this last night night but when qp was giving leaver penalties, comp wasn’t and leaving comp also wasn’t decreasing rank. I lost 5-55 per game until I learned about the bug, then I left ~10 games during my grind and lost 0 points with no penalties.

It's because you hit Bungies predetermined Comp rank based off your Hidden Bungie Skill Rating.
