Crash to Desktop starting Shadowkeep "in the deep" mission

This one mission seems to be the one thing I have come across so far that crashes me to desktop every time. It is the legacy Shadowkeep campaign mission "in the deep". The game works fine doing all other activities. I have reinstalled destiny and graphics drivers. Cleared steam cache and eaten a everything bagel along with coffee. I fixed this on PC by going into Control panel -> sound -> speaker properties -> Adv settings changed 24bit, 48000 Hz (studio kval) to 96000 Hz (studio kva) Then the tab right of Adv settings turn off windows sonic headphones apply.

    • ***Posting this this to the main thread incase my reply to @MorbidMorin gets buried*** Myself and 2 friends (all playing on Xbox Series X and running game sound through our headsets) ran into this crashing glitch upon entering The Catacombs section of the mission. * We decided to change some settings going off of some advice from other error threads online by the dashboard and going to "Settings - General - TV & display options - Resolution" and changing the resolution down to 720p combined with going to "Settings - General - Volume & audio output - Headset format" and changing from Windows Sonic for Headphones to Stereo uncompressed. We were then able to load back into The Catacombs checkpoint and continue through the entire mission from that point on without any issues. We then remembered that the Kings Fall was also crashing the 3 of us out the instant we loaded in so we decided to troubleshoot that as well. * Person 1 loaded in with the following settings: 720p and Stereo uncompressed * Person 2 loaded in with the following settings: 720p and Windows Sonic for Headphones * Person 3 loaded in with the following settings: 1440p and Stereo uncompressed The results were that Person 1 and Person 3 were not met with a crash but Person 2 was crashed immediately upon loading into the raid. It would seem that the crash is occurring because of a sound bug rather than a video bug. Maybe not entirely conclusive but this seems to have gotten us over the annoying crashes. Hope this helps others.

    • Ok either bungie fixed it while i was at work or why i did helped. If its still crashing, try turning off full auto in the gameplay settings if you have it on. That's what i just changed thinking maybe it messed with the game or something idk

        • I am having exactly the same problem on Xbox. I tried unplugging the power cord. I tried uninstalling the DLC and re-installing it. Nothing. Does anyone have this quest working on any device?
