Lake of Shadows strike has an exploit to skip the Tormentor room

I just saw one of my teammates doing something odd as we finished the area along the dam, with the threshers. They died, and I revived them, noting they didn't seem to move afterwards. Then me and my other teammate moved onto the next room just before the tormentor room, and about 30 seconds after I revived them, both teammates died. Though I was more interested in the teammate still outside where the threshers were. So I went to go revive them first. They still didn't move even after reviving them a second time, so I ran back to my other dead teammate and picked them up too, deciding to continue. Then I saw in the feed the one person still outside got killed again, so I decided to just leave them be and assumed they were just being lazy while we completed the strike ourselves. But right as we were about to step into the Tormentor room, we were being pulled into the boss room. So this means there's some way to completely skip the tormentor room for speed-runners, but that also means people like myself who prefer to take things slow and kill all the enemies on the way to the boss room, can easily be forced through it by rogue teammates. And of course, when Lake of Shadows comes back as the nightfall, people can just skip the tormentor outright, negating the whole point of them being added to the strike in the first place. I know a lot of people are gonna get mad at me for attempting to bring this to the devs attention, but I for one don't enjoy playing an activity that can be bypassed in such a way, ignoring enemies that normally need to be killed in order to proceed.
