Audio bugged
With the recent update the SFX audio is terribly bugged. Unplayable with a headset very distorted sounds and explosions even dialogue is messed up. Tried to restart and still nothing. I’m currently on PS5 but I’m seeing posts on social media about the same issues. Any updates?

Mine has been bugging out bad music is coming in just fine on ps5 Jaming Spotify but the game audio especially guns is just in and out up and down with volume glitches AF. Help please also 3d audio isn't on

Turning off the in-game voice chat fixes the bug somehow, so it's a valid temporary solution until they fix the damn bug

It's a stereo problem. I'm on PS5 and turned the audio to mono and didn't have distorted sounds since then. Hope it works for you too.

8 RepliesFor those on PS5 disabling 3D audio for your headset should fix the issue. I tested with both Dolby and DTS settings and changing those didn’t have an effect. Go into settings < sound < 3D audio for headphones and turn off

Same here, tryed reinstalling the game at first but it did not help.

Seems to be caused by any type of 3D Audio/Spatial Sound software, turning off Dolby Atmos on PC fixed it for me

Same issue here. Pc. Definitely NOT due to headset, tried multiple audio sources and all the same issue. It’s like the SFX of anything not right beside your guardian is muted and compressed. No bass and audio clips and sounds as if it’s cutting out due to maxing out of volume or something. I tried to do multiple changes to settings such as frame rate locking, changing to full screen and windowed. Nothing works. Using 3060ti so don’t believe it’s due to hardware. Everything’s up to date as well.

1 ReplyOn Xbox Series X with Dolby Atmos and the sound is busted as. Absolutely terrible. Tried 7.1 uncompressed seems to work.

Adding name to agree this is happening post update for SFX audio while playing content via head sets is horrible audio takes away from enjoyment of content. Please resolve ASAP!! Thank you

@ DevSec_3n91n33r Thanks for your help this fixed the issue. ps5/pc its all the same we are running Destiny 2. The latest update broke the 3d audio in the game no matter what platform.

Commenting to get updates also, Bungie need to sort this asap, it has made the game almost unplayable as the audio lags the frame rate drops as it tries to fix the audio and then once it can't fix the audio it distorts and crackles. Hopefully they fix it soon 🙏

Audio has been terrible for me as well (Xbox S) since the update and has continued today (April 19) across entire game. I'm confused why Bungie hasn't acknowledged this.

Same here, xbox one, funny how when you look through the thread you see mod and bungie reply to title lost threads, but not the actually game, which is video and AUDIO, fix your game or acknowledge us atleast with this issue you said to report in this help section

Same for me on PS5. Tried do look in to diffrent settings, and nothing changes. Have the problem with headphones and the surroundsystem

it was terrible, I fear they'll roll back and all the progress I've made I'll have to redo course I also completing challenges for the event coming up and I think that has something to do with it

Having audio issues on PS5 as well. Guns, explosions and voice audio becomes slowed at times. Posted multiple videos @BungieHelp with examples.
