Golf-balls & prisms should have no limit, or offer way to down-convert / trade in
I have a constant problem of too many ascendant-shards/golf-balls, and too many enhancement prisms.
I have basically all guns that I want, and all the armor that I want, and I do not chase after new ones.
When I hit the ceiling on the max of those I am allowed to carry, I have to end up either just deleting a stack of them or dump some into a piece of armor just to be able to collect the next one -- but that requires spending other resources in order to get to that level of spending. I can break down that equipment I upgraded and get some back, but this is making it so that I am being effectively punished to taxed for having the rewards I gained.
I need a way to down-convert golf balls or prisms directly into currency like through Rahool or something, instead of having to basically circumvent the limits but in the process waste a bunch of other items in order to do it.
Or, another solution is to allow me to just grab a prism/golf-ball when it is available to me, but have it sent to postmaster -- because I am being prevented from resetting rank in cruci/vanguard because I haven't collected something I have hit max on already. I get prisms and such a bunch from nightfalls, but already having max they just pile up in postmaster. I have 20 unclaimed postmaster prisms there right now. I could be using that if I could down-convert it to something useful. They are just not useful to me.

1 ReplyCaps are added for the sole purpose of driving people into using the currency because it feels bad earning rewards that are wasted It is also added to avoid players developing huge stashes over time that kill a lot of grind motivation in later seasons You are correct that it doesn’t provide any player value, it is solely intended to preserve and/or increase grind This is a cash shop game so grind metrics are of extreme importance financially to bungie These systems also drive unhealthy dopamine feedback loops that bungie uses to manipulate its players Destiny is just a drip content cash shop engine literally designed to use millions of hours of gameplay loop research to give the least new content for the maximum grind The rank system drips with predatory design

Glimmer capped at 250K with no way to purchase legendary shards Golf balls capped at 10 no way to convert for legendary shards Prisms capped at 50 no way to convert to legendary shards Just allow us to trade legendary shards for golf balls/prisms/glimmer (glimmer literally being a feature we had till bungie cut spider and for some reason decided not to have rahool feature the same trade)

I’ve deleted so many prisms and golf balls too. It’s just mean-spirited that they don’t dismantle into legendary shards. Even one.

Community: how about we can trade ascendant shards for glass needles. Bungie: nah, next season we’ll add a highly demanding processing power cosmetic board in which you’ll be able to focus one exotic engram into the exotic gear that you choose, per week. Ofc, assuming you grind some other BS Xur material. Yes, one per week, it will be pre rolled, like 99% of your existing gear, and you can suck on it. Streamers and their imaginary boyfriends: yeah!!!!! Bungie you guys are amazing at creating fantastic content. 99.95% of the Community: huh? You guys sitting on the docks?

As true as these threads are, Bungie will literally only see them as proof that they reward the currencies too easily, or prices aren't high enough.

I have been thinking the same thing too. We should be able to convert currencies up and down. Use legendary shards to get core, cores to get prisms, prisms to get shards, and they should add shards to get alloys and/or ciphers. As well as break them down the opposite way.

Stack of 10. Yes indeed I am often deleting them to reset a vendor rep or similar. How about this for solos: Stack of 30 Golf balls let's you get an Exotic you don't yet have. Non Raiders can't get the rep needed to acquire past Exotics. This would be a long daily grind way to..

A game can’t code unlimited objects there needs to be a limit placed on the items so the game can register it correctly. So it can’t be unlimited but it can be 999

1 ReplyWhy? You have how many sets of armour you want to masterwork? Have 100 ascendant shards is not like having 100 dollars. You can’t spend it on anything. I’ve had 10 shards in my postmaster on 3 characters for years it seems, I never use them.

1 ReplyIf you have that much, and everything is master worked, then you don't need to hoard them. I realised that a long time ago. Plus, people like us that have a -blam!- ton, can easily accumulate some more should we need some for some strange reason...

Conversion and an increase to the capacity does sound like a good idea. I am constantly full on all of these. I don't really get any good rolled armor, exotics or legendries.

Yes. I want to trade my 150 prisms for cores. Even if it’s 1 prism for 5 cores or just 1 prism for 3 cores. No glimmer or legendary shards. Just straight exchange. I know I can use blue armor infusion but that’s 6000 glimmer and 10 legendary shards + a lot of time if you’re doing more than a couple conversions this way.

I just find armor to masterwork n keep it going. Not everyone farms GMs so I dont see Bungo changing this. Im forever full on AC & EP. Yes it would be nice for an exchange system
