Legendary Avalon is not worth it
This activity is still ridiculously difficult. The amount of ads is insane, even with 100 Resistance. The revive tokens are a chore. The connectivity issue is crap. I constantly received the contacting Destiny 2 servers message. Getting me kicked in the process, and not being able to rejoin the mission. This thing doesn't even have checkpoints.
I just want the catalysts. To go through all that Hell is completely stupid.

1 ReplyVexcalibur is pretty bad too, honestly, I was happy when they had a secret mission, but then you get the glaive and then you feel disappointed because for the first 2-3 weeks, the intrinsics were bugged (don't know if they still are) making getting the catalysts pointless and the fact that it doesn't really do anything in general is just really sad 🙁

Easiest way to do it is solo. I tried with three people and it was tough. I did it solo and it was much easier.

Bagged my solo flawless Legend Avalon today. It goes a lot easier if you use Xenophage to delete the snipers and the wyverns on the middle boss and then Wishender on the final boss (phases 2 and 3). They're probably going to patch the Wishender thing though so maybe try to get it done before next week?

1 ReplyI'm assuming you used Warlock for it? Use Hunter Void Gyrfalcon or Hunter Arc Assasin's Cowl if you want an easier time with it

It’s tuned up to high for me. I can normally do most things in D2 but not this one. Heck I took a break to play Re4 remake and professional run new game was doable for me in under 4 hours. I can’t solo legendary Avalon, in four hours. Oh and Re4 merchant mask respectively resembles xurs face.

2 RepliesI’ve solo’d legendary 3-4 times to unlock everything. I’d be happy to give any pointers if you’d like. Biggest help in that mission was using Vexcalibur itself

1 ReplyOsteo, Null composure, and a void LMG are your best friends for the first, and second encounter. The final boss can easily be beaten with Wishender alone. The best classes are Void Bubble Titan, and Well Warlock, specifically a Starfire build. I haven’t used a Hunter but I’d go with either Nightsalker, or Stasis. There’s tons of great walkthroughs on YouTube for solo runs as well. But I would recommend a team of 3 as it helps having more for add clearing.

1 ReplyOnce you learn the encounters it’s not that bad. Hardest place is definitely the pit boss fight I just solo’d the regular version this afternoon without dying. There are some cheese spots if you know where to find them… and some cheese strats too.

I gave up on the normal version. Got to the timed part with goblins/hobgoblins and the ‘pit’ to fall into after collecting ‘stuff’. Couldn’t get any further. -
If this activity is STILL TOO DIFFICULT for you that if seems "ridiculous" - all I'm saying is maybe this game type isn't a game type for you. Lots of developers make games that don't require much skill development or investments into their game systems. Just because Bungie isn't one of those developers doesn't mean there's an issue with the game. The people that have been playing this game since the franchise launch have been waiting since Shadowkeep for this game to finally have difficulty back in it. Whilst I feel for users that started playing this game in Shadowkeep, Beyond light, & The Witch Queen and are shocked by the changes - I feel more for the many users that have been with the franchise since launch & miss the game they once had.

Try it solo, it’s so much easier. I even got it done flawless.

Sure there’s a couple sections that leave you scratching your head a bit, but I think it’s fine. It’s okay to have hard content here and there. I was able to complete it before the difficulty nerf with a good group. It will take a few runs to get the rooms down, but after that you should be fine. What I don’t like is you need to run it three times in three different weeks to get all catalysts. Guess I’ll just be happy with just the Feedback Refit.

1 ReplyFirst time my team did it, took about an hour. Expected. After that any of our runs took ab 20-30 min. Since the changes it’s mad easy. I keep seeing these posts… if you need help add me.

Mmm, how many are you trying to do it with and do you have at least 1 warlock. A clanmate and I did it flawlessly with an invis hunter and starfire lock. The thing is, every room has an area where you can survive taking next to no damage. I've posted where these are in every encounter and they're not really hard to find. Use the hunter for puzzles and mote pick up while lock does add control. If you want a titan he has to be on a survival build. I will not lie, you cannot do the Hydra without blinding grenades. It's a must have for Wyverns. Keep in mind the exotic quest like this are always hard when they first come out. Just ask anyone who did the original izzy quest, Whisper Quest, Outbreak Quest, etc. They do get easier over time. So maybe wait a couple seasons? I mean they keep nerfing glaives anyway so it's really no biggie unless you're a completionist.

1 ReplyYou just need sheer will power. All joking aside, three starfire locks makes this easy mode. Not necessary but defo easy. Wishender on final boss phase 2 also helps shift the encounter to final 3rd health faster.
