The tormentor room is completely stupid. The boss fight is completely stupid.
Having literally nowhere to go for even a second is not fun. But you keep doing it. You did it in D1 Wretched Eye. Sucked then, sucks now.
At least you had the sense to open up the boss room in the Disgraced. Where did that go?
Edit: it's not the tormentor as much as the turrets and room itself. Boss room is too small. Always has been. People just didn't notice because you could melt. I skipped it on nightfall then, too.
Edit 2: Hurr durr skill issue durr nah I'm just done with -blam!- in this game thats less fun than washing dishes

5 RepliesGuilded conqueror is gonna be fun this season. Mars battlegrounds, lake of shadows, arms dealer, glassway and proving grounds.
-
1 ReplyWhy did they add 3 Bosses to a Strike? You have Eyeball of Doom, Tormentor Padded room with floating eye Bloopers and then Cabal of Dark Triangles.
-
1 Replymy problem with the tormentor room is that 1 person gets in and door is closed instantly.
-
5 RepliesOn a more positive note The corrupted strike is not the worst strike anymore. i would rather play that than this junk
-
-blam!- in this game thats less fun than washing dishes
🤣🤣
-
3 RepliesYeah lake of shadows is not fun anymore… worst rework I have seen so far… they should have done a new strike with tumentor. Whatever.. i will skip that strike from now on. The other reworked strike is not better. I think a trainee on the job did this work. My rating 2/10

10 RepliesImagine what that room is gonna be like in GM difficulty 😂 not only will you have to worry about the tormentor, but also those acolyte’s eyes that keep respawning after you kill them.
-
I crutch a dishwasher for my dishes, easiest way to defeat them.
-
The fact that someone thought it was a good idea to put a Tormentor in a tiny locked room with Taken turrets spawing now and then on the ceiling in 4 angles definetely shows how Bungie had no idea how to make the game "more challenging", but just stupidly annoying.
-
The boss fight is the only part where they got really lazy, typical Bungie. Tight gladiator arenas with no cover, is NOT what the fan base wants. Stop trapping us in small rooms. Shotgun aping isn't my cup of tea.

1 ReplyI agree with OP. I have no problem with the difficulty of the strike, but I feel like it is a step change in difficulty as compared to other nightfalls. So, my issue has more to do with consistency. I didn't find this strike enjoyable as there were no meaningful mechanics, it felt more like, how much can we throw at the player. I am all for difficulty, and perhaps this is just me, but I hate any content that consists of no feasible cover and throwing ads at you. I feel like this takes more luck and less skill. Since I am on that note, this is a good example of how awful the AVALON mission is to play. The Vexcalibur is just not worth the effort for me to play the mission. I don't find it fun at all, I find it stressful and frustrating. I mean, there has to be away to increase difficulty without resorting to infinite ad spawn. I really miss the Season 19 exotic mission, that was well-done level design that I felt was the right level of difficult.

8 RepliesWow, you actually suck, lol pathetic, get good you garbage, that boss fight is super EEEZY to cheese.
-
tormentor? whyyyy? hero difficulty has no tormentors. maybe an unstoppable, but why the tormentor and the turrets?
-
1 ReplyBungie then takes away your abilities when the tormentor gets close , shoots you with ever spawning arc turrets which hit harder then a arbalest . Nerf you so you take more damage and do less damage. And if your lucky you might get 3 team members in the room at the same . Then at the final boss room is just a sh.t show of dumbness. There solar flames do way to much damage and shoot clear across the map. The floors kill you in seconds with them ever spawning. Then bungies ads in the boss's tether mechanic so you cant do anything . At this point why don't they just insta-wipe the whole team with a bomb and call it over. Do they really want people to play this new content ? or is it there way of saying F off ,go play something else, unless you like the crap were shoveling at you.
-
Has -blam!- Bungie not gotten a damn clue that there pushing there fan base away instead of bringing them back stop trying to make the -blam!- game like dark souls and just make it like destiny and fun again
-
And take the EDZ with it to say the map is very old and tired.
-
1 ReplyThe strike is indeed stupid Loot sucks tormentor is a tiny room with shooting balls spawning randomly. Cheap tricks low effort from bungie boss fight is completely -blam!- since the entire area is now damage you cant stand anywhere outside the boss circle. Boss is basically like a toxic stalker ex girlfriend. Spawning next to you randomly almost impossible to get a good score because some unknown thing keeps killing everyone throughout the strike
-
Out of all the parts, the tormentor room wasn’t that bad to me.

Tormentor problem? Try: Blinding Suspending Freezing

5 RepliesSounds like a skill issue to me

3 RepliesYeah the Tormentor room is only there to -blam!- you sideways because its paired with arc burn. What annoys me is that room only ever likes to allow 1 person in and lock the other two outside. you have to basically have grapple and use it in order to make it past once 1 makes it past. even if you are shoulder to shoulder. The tormentor its self isn't hard. just use blinding nades or strand susped to make him a non threat anymore. The Arc -blam!- that spawn in each corner of the room is the -blam!- move. The mini boss at the start is a bullet sponge on master and really shouldnt be there, bungie should of picked mini boss or 2 baby sit the payload sections. not both. Do like what they have done with the water in the boss room with being able to stop it from rising but there isn't a whole lot of cover and this boss room was never intended to house bosses and ads. You find your self running around hoping you don't get hit while the other fire team members wait out the timer for res. I know I was hard on The Arms Dealer but that was actually done well. It has an alternate start that is kind of fun, The Ball Dunking is still there but insted of twice its only once in this area. Drop Ship Cannons are annoying AF but despite not showing damage number you can shoot them off and the drop ship will piss off. With the Boss fight of the Arms Dealer I would just say only issue is the 7 turrets that spawn all around the lift platform ready to gun you down in 0.01 seconds
-
Only real problem is wiping on the boss spawns champs somewhere in the void thus making platinum impossible and therefore nightfall pointless. Combat isn't the problem
-
Edited by Monkey: 4/9/2023 3:00:21 PMYou can tell Bungie has the scoring completely wrong with the new versions of Arms Dealer and Lake of Shadows The turrets in that tormentor room are stupid..I can imagine those in the GM
-
I ran through it last night and it was such a drag with all the new additions slowing it down, like not even difficult just unnecessarily slowed down. If they wanted to reuse existing areas for strikes I don't get why they don't just repurpose that EDZ section from Curse of Osiris, or the Black Armory place rather than messing with old strikes.
