With recent news for exotic focusing, we need the amount of ascendant shards we can carry to be increased to at least 20. Focusing 3 specific exotics to then run out will be frustrating.

2 Replies“Raise the cap on ALL enhancement materials”. Fixed it for ya
-
2 RepliesAgreed! Limit of 10 is ridiculous when you consider how many are needed for different uses: 1 per masterworked legendary 3 per masterworked exotic *7 shards for a full set of masterwork armor with exotic. More than half the inventory cap. Now it will cost 3 per exotic focus? Pretty brutal. Was excited for exotic focusing until I read the cost- now way in hell I am ever going to gamble 3 shards on an exotic that may have a junk stat roll anyway. Great idea, poor execution. Will not be wasting my shards at that price
-
3 golf balls is way too expensive for random rolls. And there is no guarantee of high stat rolls either.
-
Bungie is too afraid of people stocking up on materials. In the past 4 seasons alone including the current season, I’ve hit the trials lighthouse chest 358 times. Each time is pretty much a guaranteed shard, so I’d have around 350 ascendant shards stocked up on me. They don’t want people having their time played in the game rewarded by stockpiling mats because they’re a bad company.
-
or AT LEAST give me a few legendary shards when I delete one…maybe even some glimmer
-
2 RepliesJust remove caps period. Rather you play to get 10, 10 times, or play and get 100 over time, you still put in the time and effort.
-
They need to increase the drop rate of ascendant shards too. I need them to buy exotics out of the vault at the tower to infuse weapons that I like since I've gotten 24 armor pinnacles in a row.
-
There should be zero caps on consumable items.
-
1 ReplyYou guys have shards? I’m always broke.
-
I have 40 ascendant shards but don’t play anymore. Wish I could them away.
-
1 ReplyThey say this is a live game. It means you are not playing, you are living. Living in a hamster wheel.🤣 Everyone knows a hamster wheel game has no depth. Because it feels barren and devoid of fun. What a game! A shallow game.🤣
-
every cap should be remove, or at least raise to 999,999🤣🤣🤣
-
Amen. They shouldn't be capped. The little ways they force you to grind is disgusting.
-
3 RepliesWhy is there even a cap on anything? Just remove them all. It's entirely unnecessary and infuriating.
-
-
1 ReplyThey said they are..to 5 lol.. So you wont even have enough stocked to do more than 1 at a time.
-
Rather than Ascendant Shards I imagine the real limiting factor for Precision Decryption is going to be Exotic Ciphers. While they said they will be increasing the stack limit for Exotic Ciphers from one to five, they haven’t expressly stated that the weekly Cypher quest from Xur will be changed to be completable more often. As far as I’m aware the Xenology Quest to get a Cipher is currently limited to one completion per week per account (not character). If this remains unchanged then we’ll generally get one Precision Decryption per week with a bonus Focus once per Season using the Exotic Cipher from the Season Pass. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

Needs to be at least double what it is now
-
I found really amusing the title: reflecting on lightfall. Bruh… we’re year 9. How long does it take one to reflect. Especially when aspects of the game like glass needles were introduced year 3. Bungie, kings at selling content out of QoLs.
-
Just remove the cap outright.
-
Agreed! Best post on the forum. With the exotic focusing coming up and the cost, we need to be able to stock up
-
2 RepliesAgreed and they should raise the cap on all materials involved with focusing exotics,
-
3 RepliesEdited by CookieNiki: 4/6/2023 3:16:14 PMWhat they should do is create new and accessible ways to get ascendant shards and prisms for casual and solo players. Not everyone can no-life the game or depend on a team to run endgame content every day for many hours straight. That's why this new exotic focusing feature will be for the same old, same old, players. "Rich should get richer" seems to be the new Bungie motto. And btw: they should also double the glimmer cap.
-
I agree, I have 72 masterworked exotics in my vault just simply serving as a place holder for golf balls ready to be dismantled if I need more I know it's spend 3 get 1 back but I figured what the hell and I've lost countless to the damn postmaster
-
Doesn’t matter. Bungie doesn’t know what a good stat roll is so no one will engage with it

Edited by ForeverLaxx: 4/6/2023 8:25:49 AMBungie's refusal to meaningfully increase caps on the materials that matter is a tacit admission that their game is shallow. It only functions "as designed" if all content is drip-fed and player materials/currencies are kept at middling to low values in order to force a regrind after any single significant change to the game. And that, dear reader, is you realizing that Bungie makes these significant changes to the game practically every season. Armor stat rebalancing? Subclass changes? Gear focusing? Season-specific currencies? "Time in the sun" balance philosophies? Gotta go get new gear because your old gear isn't good enough anymore, causing you to run out of materials that are intentionally kept low to throttle how much you can fix at once which forces you to go into grind cycles to restock, upping their engagement metrics that they're so proud of. You're a hamster on a wheel. Forever.
