Gave buying Lightfall a miss on release due to the negative response but considering a purchase now it's on sale.
Is it worth it or am I throwing away money?

In my honest opinion it's not worth spending any amount of money on right now.
Is it worth it
Short answer: No. Long answer: Hell No.

It’s worth the price of about 30 bucks I would say

No, it’s a dated engine with the same basic mechanics. Your really paying for the service to continue. And I’ll be honest the game is really boring now. Lightfall offered nothing new or interesting. It was just a reused season of the splicer skin, the raid is void of challenging mechanics, just add clear. Apart from the third encounter which is slightly more interesting. Weapons have no impact when you shoot. Neptune is empty and lacks character. The campaign is just a filler episode and was completed in a day. At best I would say £40 is a fair price for the deluxe edition. £20 for the normal. I don’t really care, I’ve started playing Horizon and I work full time. I’ll do the master raid to get the seal and then self destiny until final shape. Then I guess that’s it until the new dungeon. Which will be another solo flawless. I can’t comment on PVP because I don’t use that feature. But that is really the same as D1 crucible.

1 ReplyI'd say its worth around $10

It's just my opinion, but I'd say it's definitely not worth the price.

3 RepliesEdited by Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 3/31/2023 10:11:52 AMCan you afford it? If yes then yes. If no then no. It’s more Destiny to play. You’re either going to keep playing without the DLC - which let’s be real here if you’re out of things to do is kind of pointless - or you’re going to stop playing. So have you run out of things to do and can you afford it? Do you want more things to do? That’s the answer to the question

If you like Destiny, you're choosing to buy more Destiny.
-
1 ReplyWaiting till it's 12 dollars, then I'll think about it.

Buy if have fun with destiny still, if not buy something else

I got my money's worth, and we're only a month in. I paid full price for the deluxe.
-
1 ReplyWhere is it on sale? If it's 15% off somewhere, it's always been that. Every week for months I've gotten emails trying to sell it for 15% off to me. It's not worth that price by the way. Wait until it's half off. And then you may or may not feel it was worth it. I'm serious.

4 Repliesi bought the base version for 50 in order to play trials and level up faster. Other than that I don’t really play the PvE side of it unless for pinnacle.

20$ is fine. 30$ is too much. I'd wait until season 21. By that time they would probably come to their senses when it comes to a lot of changes that came with LF, and seasonal weapons will be much better. There are leaks about it all over the internet.

No. The expansion was beaten fairly quickly with more questions than answers. Even Season of Defiant was only 6 weeks long, which normally would go for 10 weeks of activities contained. So, they really skimped, skimmed and scrapped to give us this. They added in a pyschological punch (Amanda) to keep us emotionally invested with such a tight content crunch. People, if you beaten the main story and completed Defiance, that's it. You're done till Season of the deep. They're hoping you'll grind and chase builds for the next three weeks...

1 ReplyThey are heavily promoting season of the deep, only 30 odd days into this season Is it dangling carrots or not, A massive list of weapon buffs for pve and pvp tuning come deep This season is already basically over The final warning is fun The strand builds are fun The loadouts are brilliant The void MG is a beast The raid shotty fun There's my good list The new content is dire, neptune is vile, and the narrative makes you wanna throw up The leads and story and events are lacking lustre and lazy and rushed "You have many questions, guardian." yes bungie in 9 years, you've only answered 2 🤣 Are there some god-like builds, yes, of course. But sell your soul to farm it all up The focusing is horrific guns and armour. The sheer amount it takes 60 engams for 1 piece horrific Millions of glimmer And that's my bad list Am I having fun doing co-op activities and meeting people ? Yes, definitely I learnt very quickly when they started 'the great reset' way bk on dark below the pattern, it's never changed Multiple items and time spent gaining 'things' to become useless, now it's a common theme every season I've played too long to not want to really get to the end, which is why I keep throwing money into this furnace 🤣🤣 Yeah, why not get it cheap? It surely can't break the bank Or... throw ya sheckels in to diablo 4. June 6th

2 RepliesThe good: Strand is Cool 3 new Armor Sets About 2 dozen new weapons New exotics A new raid The bad: Story is mediocre at best insulting at worst. Nimbus Strand was def cut from witchqueen and shoehorned in here Neptune is a friggin nightmare until you reach around 1800 Difficulty is broken not in a good way. Lost sectors are now harder than the hardest raid pre lightfall You like recycled guns from content you already paid for before? You're in luck because that's what you'll be getting for most of your loot drops. No actual people in neptune just vr spirits that all look alike NIMBUS(YES TWICE BECAUSE THE CHARACTER IS THAT BAD)

1 ReplyI've only bought the season, but I feel like there were many positive charges. Playlist strikes are fun, legendary nightfalls are better and you can get the pinnacle with matchmaking, the seasonal event is good. I like that they updated existing strikes. Obviously, I would prefer to get new strikes, but some change is much better than nothing. I'm not sure it's worth the money for what I think is mostly a subclass and patrol bounties. I was completely disappointed that there are no fast travel points in the new patrol area. Every new location should have at least 2 fast travel points with lost sectors, public events, and enemies around. The new area, you can go check out, but it felt empty. Also, the same old public events is a bummer. I get why people complain, but for the 1st time in a long time, I think there are at least some positive changes. I think the $50 was a bit much. They are basically pay gating the game each year. You need to pay to do the same stuff you've been doing. Ideally, they would update some existing assets each season and add some new stuff with the expensive expansion.
