Sekiro- where have you been, my love?
Just started, beat a big old troll. Now there's a General Samurai guy in the next courtyard. Digging combat. Verrrry different from Souls and Elden Ring but the design elements and UI are all there.
I have a few new games I'm digging through, bought the Phoenix Wright series on switch, Sekiro, Control, and also Guild Wars 2 on PC. Fun stuff

4 RepliesI love Sekiro. Played through it three times. Once I figured out that dodging is suicide (literally designed to trip out dark souls players) and that you just gotta attack-parry-attack, the game just clicked for me

The graphics are great, the combat is bloody(also very fluid), and the story is *chefs kiss*. I have always been a HUGE history nerd(mostly medieval and feudal eras) but I've always loved the Japanese Feudal era the most. Although the story of this game is nowhere near accurate. Katanas did not exist in the 13th century. Samurai were mounted archers. They had swords but they were longer and were sheathed upside down for easier draw. The samurai's honor code, the Bushido, was not as rigid as the one shown in the game. Backstabbing and underhanded tactics were accepted, as long as it brought "honor" and kept face for your lord. It is shown in many forms of media that ninja/shinobi and samurai are enemies, but this is false. The samurai actually [i]hired[/i] ninja to spy and assassinate enemies from rival clans. While the samurai were betraying one another, ninjas were actually very loyal to their masters. Ninjas didn't appear until the early 13th century. Putting that aside, Ghost of Tsushima is an exquisite game. A masterpiece. Hopefully they make a sequel. And if there are other Ghost of Tsushima fans, see y'all at the movies!

2 RepliesI should probably get Sekiro one of these days, but for some reason I never care to pick it up. In any case, I’ve been playing; Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe - Magolor Epilogue is great—one of their best postgame modes ever, Mecha is my new favorite copy ability, there’s a casual Susie mask, and best of all there’s a fish-man-gorilla! Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - Big surprise, I’m always playing FFCC. I’m trying to max out my Lilty, and once I do I’ll have maxed out every class. Lilties have the hardest grind, though. >.< Kingdom Hearts: Re: Chain of Memories - My second favorite Kingdom Hearts. Grinding out to level 99. I think I’m at 92? Have A Nice Death - Fun Roguelite platformer. I’m quite bad at it, though. Usually I’d have gotten gud by now, but not this time. >.> Skullgirls - I’m not actually playing this right now, but Black Dahlia comes outthis week, so I will soon.

This is like the second time I couldn't get down with a From game. But the first time was Demon's Souls, and that grew on me. We probably loop back and give this another try at one point. Currently playing Assetto Corsa, No Man's Sky. Whatever multiplayer flavor of the month if friends want to squad up. Found my first stargate last night. So I now have Stargate access, a base portal nearby I can warp to from a space station, and enough glyphs to wind up in random af places. We were playing Euclid Checkers. Now we're playing intergalactic chess.

Have fun with sekiro, especially when you get to the [spoiler]Guardian Ape.[/spoiler] Right now I’m playing “that game,” and some Demon Souls in between (FTH and INT run). After that I’ll play Bloodborne (full STR) or Nioh 2. I’ve heard great things about Nioh 2; sekiro but even more polished/ the closest FromSoft-like game to rival the company. Haven’t had much time to play other games cuz I’m knee deep in exams.

Same with Prodeus that modern doom clone; although I did actually play some of that and I quite enjoy it. I should probably delete Skyrim and uninstall vortex I have sunk so many hours into it recently without actually playing; just restarting and restarting trying to get mods to work together and swearing at the ones that don’t…

4 RepliesHell yeah dude Sekiro is amazing, probably my favorite or 2nd favorite from FromSoft. I picked up the Resident Evil 4 Remake and I've been loving that recently, also been playing lots of Rainbow Six Siege with some friends, all-around good times.
