Back in Season of the Seraph, Bungie announced that (understandably) melee builds are going to need some reigning in. This included dropping 12p down to a 2x (from 3x), nerfing Wormgods Caresses damage buff, and a handful of other nerfs to other classes melee exotics as well.
What was our compensation? Well, they now work with glaives! And it was great! Until a few months later, and Lightfall releases. Lo and Behold, one glaive seemed just strong with Synthoceps and glaive melee. Wormgods weren’t good at all, after the nerf most titans gave up on them, so that was our best option. Now they’ve nerfed that option so hard that a
UNCHARGED MELEE WITH SYNTHOS, DOES MORE DAMAGE THAN A 30% BUFFED SPECIAL GLAIVE (Judgment of Kelgorath) MELEE WITH SYNTHOS.
So, as they guy with the ‘fist on the cover of the game’, what do we do now Bungie? Do you want to nerf Peregrine Grieves next just to tick all your nerf boxes to make sure we all fall into the same line of grenade spam volatile rounds builds? Surely that should be our only build option. Maybe a shield toss build? The melee that does less damage than a standard uncharged melee?

After they nerfed synthos with glaives I immediately dumped vex caliber. I don't like glaives, much like I don't like swords for the same reasons. Way more risky to use for no where close to the reward that should be justified. That's not to say it should be the absolute freest damage like it was with winters bite...but if endgame literally forces me to sit back then what's the point of having them? Even slugs only really got away with it because their damage was so stupid. How many players you see running shotguns in pve? I don't EVER see glaives and don't even get me started on swords. I hate how bad they are at balancing close range builds.

Dealing over 100k damage a hit with WinterBite for free is just pure cheese it requires no build up and if you place a bubble you get even more damage and no way to die. Maybe if there was a way to make melee builds that were balanced a argument could be made but there was never a in between

Peregrine Greaves are gonna be the next titan exotic nerfed, if they overlook ashen wake. Another month, another nerf.
-
and revert one two punch nerf
-
2 RepliesMelee builds needs to be viable. They should do the most damage out of all the builds considering their risk in endgame content. I don’t understand why bungie constantly nerfs titans whenever a strong melee build comes up. We warlocks have a freaking sticky grenade solar build with the starfire that allows us to dish out more dps than any super in the game and yet the titans having more risk on their build cant have it? Its sad because titan players cant even live up to their niche, it defeats the purpose of having different classes.

Synthoceps stink? Weird
-
3 RepliesDon’t expect much from Bungie. I still remember how garbage they made Daybreak for no fking reason when Solar 3.0 came out. Almost 9 months later they finally made it semi decent and buffed Phoenix dive’s absurdly long cooldown. They’ll fix or revert the nerf in around 6-10 months sorry.

Try warlock with vexcalibur and vampires caress...you simply cannot die.
-
Why is it that Titans are ‘the guy with their fist on the cover’ and yet Hunter has the most endgame viable melee build in Destiny?
-
3 RepliesIf glaives are starting to get things nerfed, just delete glaives. They're dogshit and aren't worth the hassle.
