Like, it’s not even fun.
I’m playing a game I love, and it’s not fun….in the slightest.
I’ve played plenty hard content that’s also fun and a challenge to get through. This mission has been built to do everything it can to be annoying, not difficult, annoying.
Want to take cover? There is none. Find a corner to hide in? There are floating sniping goblins. Cleared to room of ads? To bad they spawn none stop. Looking for the symbols? There on the other side of the room covered in ads. Get past the first room? To bad die and your back for the start. Want to do it with a fireteam? Unlucky it’s even harder with scaling.
Legend seraph shield solo flawless was one of the best exotic missions I had done, challenging, fun mechanics, plenty enemies, cool bosses, amazing looking areas to explore, good enemy density.
It’s a shame, was really getting back into the game before lightfall. Everything feels like a slog now. Putting full mags into a single enemy is so boring. At least it’s only for ranks that mean literally nothing. Sure I can live without the catalyst. This will be the first quest I haven’t completed.
Edit: I’ve completed it now but stand behind what I said. Repetitive slog.

It shouldn't be as hard, -20 or -25. What's the point in leveling to 1840? I'll still try though.
-
2 RepliesIt doesn't have much repeatability, that's for sure. Dip in and dip out, never to return!
-
1 ReplyI rather enjoyed the mission, got all 3 of my catalysts collected and will continue helps ng friends collect theirs. It requires you to think and strategize about how to handle an encounter vs just being unga bungaa easy or allowing overly-safe ranged play. I recognise this is not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it and hope we get more difficult content like this.
-
The worst part is there Wyvern's dive bombing you off the map into oblivion
-
Y'all forget about the game crash bug 1st Boss / 2nd Phase. Nothing more fun than loosing 2 buddies during this fight because their game crashes everytime. What a beautiful way to waste your time. Still haven't heard about a solution to this... (please correct me if there was an update). Think I first read about it on the 8th of march.

15 RepliesIt's not easy but very fun and engaging.

Avalon on normal difficulty is some of the most fun I've had in destiny in a long time. Legend? Forget about it. Got my one completion and haven't looked back. Damn near unplayable.
-
1 ReplyMy only complaints is limited revives on legend e.g. the timer keeps going down with each revive, second beef is with increased difficulty for having friends, there is an extreme jump between 2 and 3 in a team. I thought the point of this game was to play with friends not be a solo basement sweatlord.

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
Congrats on completing it. I had a hard enough time with the normal version and gave up on it. -
I’ve got every catalyst in the game but have no desire to run this for completions sake. It sounds no fun at all and I’m not a fan of glaives so 🤷♂️
-
I won't play it. No thanks.

2 RepliesCompleted Legend Avalon three times. Worst exotic mission by a mile, and yes I did Whisper and Zero Hour before. Avalon just isn't fun at all, it's just annoying. The gambit BS has the usual Gambit BS (motes won't be picked up or will just fly off the map from a stray fart), enemy spawns are designed specifically to screw you over, and in usual Bungie fashion: keep throwing more adds at the problem to solve it. Even ignoring the usual gripes, the mission itself is just terrible. OSS gave us things to search for and figure out. Avalon feels so empty and the mysteries just don't feel intuitive at all. This whole mission just makes me wanna kiss an oncoming train every time I do it.

Edited by Auronio: 3/27/2023 12:12:34 PMI hate jumping exercises. One false step and falling into the abyss... Other than that it's not really a creative masterpiece. Artificial difficulties such as playing memory, mote and timers with constant ad spam. Plus they ran out of money for using more colours... Operations Seraph Shield was a genius work of art in comparison.

7 RepliesThe payoff isn’t worth it. Average glaive. Rev Zero was an average pulse I vaulted, but at least the mission was fun af and just right on difficulty.
-
The toughest part is the middle encounter , where you have to be open with 2 ultra wyvern bearing down on you while you are waiting on the door to close That's when I learned to wait till about 4-5 seconds left to go down Brakkion is a breeze, if you have wish ender you can cut the 2nd level to 1 puzzle, and then finish off Brakkion behind the farthest milk spout from him with truesight

5 RepliesEdited by Ray: 3/27/2023 12:46:29 PMNo it’s not. Y’all overhype this mission way too much It’s one of my favorite content in the game

I tried to beat Avalon on legend with a few LFG teams. The added difficulty with each player was just ridiculous, never made it past the first boss encounter. Decided to try and solo it, watched a few videos on warlock builds and gave it a shot. About 20+ deaths in the first boss encounter and I managed to get it. Final boss is a breeze due to WishEnder. I might go for the other catalysts, but not particularly bothered if I don't.

7 RepliesEdited by Hawpy: 3/27/2023 2:47:19 AMIt's definitely a very hard activity, but I don't think it's that bad..........except for the Wyverns in the Gambit phase of the first boss. You don't get enough time to kill them, they come from both directions and they just tower over you while you're in the supposed "safe spot". There was one time when I had Woven Mail and Void Overshield active and was holding up the Glaive shield in the pit, they still did enough damage to kill me before the wipe happened. If I worked the numbers correctly, they should have been doing 0.5% of their normal damage. They could have killed me 200 times over in less than 10 seconds. Unless you have a Bubble or Well reserved solely for them, the only way to not die is to hit them with Suspend or Blind. Their mere existence is enough to make you panic if you haven't collected enough motes.
-
I have to resort to just using Wishender exclusively. But yeah, they over did it a little.
-
9 RepliesDid it on legend yesterday with a LFG. Took us about an hour and a half. Once you know what loadouts it isn’t too bad. Need a well for sure and a bubble doesn’t hurt. One hunter running Omni was clutch during harpy encounter in the hole. Also thunderlord and ikelos create orbs galore. Boss was easiest: phase 1: pop bubble and well, Gally and two tail dump. Phase 2: when you spawn in don’t move. Wish ender through the barrier. Kill all ads (ikelos) and save heavy for boss room. Third phase: well and bubble and nuke him.

1 ReplyI understand your frustrations. Personally all the reasons you dont like it is why i like it lol. Revision was a cake walk. I didnt even bothered doing it with people because solo was that easy on legend. When in doubt just max your Int and pull Wish Ender out
-
I duo'd it with a friend, its deffo not for the faint-hearted.

There's certainly a huge difference between this season's exotic mission and last season's. The Revision Zero mission on Legend felt real good on solo. Build needed to be reasonably optimized, you needed to pay attention, but it wasn't anything insurmountable or that you couldn't handle alone. With a full fireteam, Avalon on Legend is like trying to figure out a new GM. I wouldn't want to even try it solo when the reward is just an extra mundane perk on a glaive (though, Graverobber is pretty nice to have). I agree; they've gone a little crazy with the difficulty here.

10 RepliesAm not gonna lie this mission is extremly difficult, without all players pulling there weight its gonna be a grind for sure, there is a few cheeses but overall the mission is still really hard. But it is a legend difficult challenge and its for the catalyst not the weapon, the weapon itself is quite easy to get, if you want to masterwork it your gonna have to put in some serious effort, especially for all 3 catalyst, Bungie are not just going to hand you loot because you said so, because you say its to hard, it doesnt work like that. My advice is run it with players that are actually good, use strong weapons and your best builds, if you still cant do it then maybe your just not good enough.

1 ReplyAccidentally shoot symbols clearing adds start over.
