IB Matchmaking Is Still Broken
There's no version of reality that a team with no players over 1.7KDA not KD, KDA should be matching against teams with plus 2 and even 3 KDs. This is absurd! It's about time Bungie addresses this issue, that matchmaking is far from balanced l, and is not working as intended.

That's because it's not actually skill based matchmaking. It's ratio based matchmaking. Bungie shoves you in with the worst goobers on the enemy team for one game, decides you're too powerful, and then has you lose the next 10 before it puts you in with the goobers again. There is no in between.

For once I just want a match where one team isn't winning by double or even triple the other team's score. Almost every match is ridiculously one-sided.

5 RepliesLiterally just lost a game to a team of 2 x 3 stacks. With my team of all solo players. How is that balancing or fair?! I just don’t get this. IB control is about comms. So going against stacks on comms = loss. They won due to organisation. Not skill. Definitely not connection. It’s infuriating to play against.

played 1 match yday as solo,but i got teamed with 5vs5,we got run over, i got 1 kill.usaly i get 10-15. Ib was fun until Bungie decided to screw solo players.

This has been my worst matchmaking in any Iron Banner. Every game I'm playing against trial's try-hards with adept everything, while my teammates seem to be playing a video game for the first time.

The latency in some matches is so awful this iron banner Ontop of the horrible lobby balancing making this easily one of the worst plus the smg spam is incredibly lame at this point

I had quit PvP when they switched to CBMM almost 2 years ago because almost every game ended due to mercy rule; solos were consistently competing against stacks; and skill disparity was ridiculous. No fun. Decided to try this week's IB after seeing the data in Bungie's latest report on matchmaking. Played about 20 matches. Only 2-3 ended due to mercy; many matches were competitive; solos mostly played against solos with occasional 2 stack. And player skill was commensurate with my own. Most fun I've had in PvP in years.

1 ReplyFor some reason the team balancing seems all over the place. 1/2 the time the teams are balanced and it’s good matches, and the other 1/2 its terrible. Not all the bad matches end with mercies, but matches going 150 to 80 is not necessarily a good match either.

Sorry to hear you had bad luck with your lobbies. On my side it has been awesome and I'm just an average at best. This season matchmaking has been the best since a long time. I truly hope it improves for you.

Two of my friends and I played 8 matches of Iron Banner last night and lost every single one. They are going to quit the game and I don’t want that to happen. It sucks. 0-8 sucks.

I've played a few games the past couple days and I'm enjoying it, which is actually VERY unusual for me. I usually hate PvP. I mean, it's still PvP so it's still a crap shoot, but it's less of a shitfight than it has been previously.

2 RepliesThey prioritized the wrong things in matchmaking. Instead of focusing on lobby balancing, they focused on fireteam balancing. I’d much rather have a balanced lobby and play against a fireteam than just getting lopped into a lopsided lobby cause the fireteam numbers matched. Typically when I matched against a fireteam it was just below average players thinking being in a premade team somehow made them more skilled

Matchmaking is a win/loss algorithm of 50% but even that doesn’t work right.

I can't get over how -blam!- the pinnacle variety is in IB. Constant special and heavy drops. Its bad enough people have to suffer through 18 games per character, do we have to suffer on drops too.

I had plenty of matches where the top guy on my team had less points then the bottom guy of the other team. Lobby Balancing has always been terrible but this season it's total crap.
