I am betting she comes back as a guardian too. With them making a point in the dialogue between her, Devrim, and Mithrax about how they don't have the light to fall back.
I wouldn't be surprised if Zavala and Ikora get phased out for whatever they have planned after The Final Shape. We might get Amanda, Crow, and who knows who as our new version of what ever the Vanguard will be in the next chapter of Destiny.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next step in the Destiny journey has anything to do with the Vanguard. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't even in the solar system. Depending on how much they want to change Destiny after the final shape, I am guessing new races, new destinations, new powers not tied to light and dark. I personally have been referring to the next step for Destiny, Destiny Andromeda.
