With the new difficult increase making enemies tankier and hit harder, overload champions have become ridiculously hard to deal with. Their rapid healing has always been annoying as it often outpaces any weapon without overload rounds, and they're so aggressive that they often demand your full attention until you stun them.
In the past I could usually stun them once and kill them, or survive long enough to stun them a second time. With enemies being made stronger now though, I've been struggling to kill them, and they almost one shot me, making surviving to stun again near impossible. Due to their healing, this means the slightest mistake puts you back at square one.
For context, my main experience with them this season has been running legend perdition lost sector at 1790-1800 power level, but I am assuming other champions will be stronger than last season as well. Is anybody else feeling this way, or am I simply underleveled or missing something?

2 RepliesEdited by Jones ~Æternum~: 3/21/2023 2:54:54 PMIt’s the constant firing while teleporting. Like never ending. You can’t stun them because they blink all over the place and still manage to shoot you while impervious to damage in teleport. The teleporting mechanic is WAY overused in Destiny. I’m over it.

Skill issue, but its okay. The comments downlow have a lot of good suggestions.

5 RepliesDude it's called Thunderlord....
-
2 RepliesThey regen health while suspended... That's bs
-
Le Monarque or Osteo Striga. Bye bye overload champions
-
I will say 1 thing Le Monarque
-
7 RepliesI just ran the Vex lost sector on Europa the one with the hydra boss. Tried it at 1808 power with my void auto rifle first. Overload would not stun consistently was wiped. Changed to Osteo Striga managed to do it in 11 mins, no deaths, but you really do need Striga on those Overloads, the rest of the sector was easy, but the Overloads are just insane.

3 RepliesEdited by waterpolo1: 3/20/2023 9:43:22 PMBow + rocket and they are erased. Same as before. You're also underleveled. You wanna be around 1815 to tackle legend difficulty.
-
I'm fairly certain the rate at which they regen health is tied to how under leveled you are.

3 RepliesEdited by EnglishPete: 3/20/2023 11:52:56 AMI have found Osteo Striga SMG to be highly effective against them, the poison DoT seems to make them easier to deal with. Also, if you poison kill a few adds first, it’s not hard to have 80+ rounds in the mag for a continuous burn. It also works well on Unstoppable champs, stub with a scout, then Striga, stun again, repeat. I know Striga gets complained about, but we use the tools Bungie provide us.

Le Monarque has been easy mode for overloads season after season.

My friend if you are not using champion counters to counter champions no wonder youre struggling, my advice get a riptide with chill clip, takes care of 2 kinds of champion at once makes life alot easier in taken missions like the seasonal activity. Barriers are easy enough to deal with as volatile rounds is really common this season.

Overload Bow peak and shoot FTW
-
Overpowered no. Annoying as hell yes. You have to wait for the appropriate flash to know when they coming out of immune phase for stunning. Start shooting at the right moment.
-
Chill clip Fusion rifle pwns them. They used to be a pain; now they don’t give me much problem.
-
2 RepliesWhich means you were underleveled by 30 at best so don't expect it to be a breeze...

6 RepliesWhen you are used to being able to stun an Overload Champion and quickly melt them with a Heavy or Super, it’s easy to overlook one of the more subtle aspects of the Overload Chanp mechanic. As you well know, hitting an Overload Champ with an Overload shot will stun them and disable their regen. The period of time in which their regen is disabled tends to last roughly as long as their stun window. Against a tougher (higher level) Overload Champ this means you might stun them, take off perhaps 30 to 40% of their health with a Heavy during stun and then scramble to get stun reapplied as their health begins to refill. However, it is important to note that while you cannot reapply stun to an Overload Champ while they are stunned, you can continuously update the timer for the disabled regen, regardless of their current stun state, by simply landing additional Overload shots on them. For solo Lost Sector attempts at their now higher difficulty, this means it’s generally a good idea to stun an Overload Champ, clear out any nearby enemies during the initial stun period, and then lay into the Champ with whatever anti-Overload primary you have on you to continuously pause their regen. With some practice you’ll get a better feel for how long you can whittle them down with your primary before you’ve finally got them low enough to nuke them with Heavy ammo. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

Edited by Gibbon, the Ape Defector: 3/20/2023 12:08:17 PMYou are INSANELY underleveled. That power level you're at is making the power level difficulty 32% harder than GM.

Right now I feel like barriers are more annoying than overload. Absolutely hate them.
-
Le Monarque.

I used the Polaris Lance when the Chamber of Starlight was the Legend lost sector. The long sight lines made for good scout rifle use. Solar surge was helpful and I just cleared ads from a distance

Had about 40 left after thunderlording one
-
If you wanna see some sh*t do the God mode glitch on the Breakneck mission on master or legend. Watch how insane those enemies truly are. Like WTF 😂
-
Massively under levelled like you were, the average player is gonna have a bad time.

Skill issue

Disagree. Overload champs have a special way to be approached & dealt with. But they ain't any MORE difficult in S20
